Offensive explosive plays

If you watch our offense over the past 3 years that has been the glaring issue. I think we can all agree that the majority of explosive plays come from your passing game. So what do y’all think the issue is with our lack of explosive plays in the passing game. It seems like for 3 years we need 10+ play drives to score a TD. Much like yesterday why didn’t we at least try a deep ball or 2? Anyways GO TIGERS!!!

Randall and Stellato were both open on deep routes and Cade either did not see it or did not throw it. The only deep balls I can remember Cade cutting loose on was the throw to Tuner in the ACC Championship and the throw he got hit on yesterday that was an easy pick. Maybe I am missing one or two but it can’t be more than that.
He seems comfortable firing a ball into triple coverage from 10 yards but seems hesitant to throw deep.

^^^ this along with lack of a WR that creates a vertical threat… Nolan Turner being out did not help. Need someone that can consistently take the top off of a secondary.

Yeh it seems like Cade doesn’t see open receivers or is too scared to throw it deep. I’ve also noticed when DJ was qb we seemed to call conservative pass plays and it seems to be more of the same with Cade. It’s like the playbook isn’t open unless we have trever or DW4.

Difficult to even attempt deep balls when the OL is as bad as this one. Even on plays here CK2 had all day to throw, the patterns were shallow crossing routes and quick sideline throws. KY played a soft zone the entire game which didn't help matters. However, Riley does not even attempt to stretch the defense at all. I watched CK2 play in HS and they threw deep a lot, so he has the arm talent. I think it all goes back to no trust in the speed of the WR's and no trust that the OL will protect, so they just don't even try. I think if I see another WR screen, I will be sick. Defenses are loading up the line of scrimmage on Clemson and will continue to do so until we back them off. Even if unsuccessful, we still have to try.
