Claiming that the issue has to do with only FSU as a program is the lowest possible IQ stance to take. These are the same people who let "group x" of humans be taken away in cattle cars because they are not part of "group x". Honestly, these are the lowest and most repugnant types of homosapiens the world has ever spat out.

The point where we assume there’s a spot reserved for us in the CFP…just need to get through the formality that is the ACC. People forget that there are 129 or so other programs all trying to win every week…several dozen of them with equal or better financial support than Clemson has. Getting to the CFP is hard. Going undefeated almost never happens. To go undefeated and win your conference, and then to be told “Yeah, but you’re really not that good” and to be replaced by two one-loss teams. That would sting.

So what would you say to undefeated Liberty barely even getting a ranking after winning their CFP-eligible conference? Are you going to say CUSA is not as good as the ACC? That would be like saying the SEC deserves more consideration because it is better than the ACC, wouldn't it? Or do conferences not play into the CFP decision? You cannot have it both ways.

I am inclined to believe Florida was not robbed and it had nothing to do with money or SEC bias. There were three former coaches or players on the committee that were in the ACC. A fourth was from Notre Dame which might as well be ACC. Only one person had a connection to the SEC at all so I think this argument of SEC bias is total b.s.

I have not seen anywhere where the CFP is obligated to give any team a birth to the CFP based solely on their win-loss record or conference championship. So based on that alone FSU was not robbed.

Conference championships are part of the equation

* Championships won
* Strength of schedule
* Head‐to‐head competition (if it occurred)
* Comparative outcomes of common opponents (without incentivizing margin of victory)

And the committee also takes into account coaches or players that were significant contributors during the season, but are not available during playoff games.

This is point number four or five, I can’t remember, which, on the committee’s website.

Mr. Travis will not be available for the playoffs.

FSU wasn’t even a top 14 before Jordan Travis got hurt.

Without Jordan Travis, I don’t know if FSU is even a top 15 team.

Still not over it. Tried to like Norvell ,remember watching the coaches version of the NC Game when he was still at Memphis, liked him, then he pulled that NO PLAY crap a few years ago to avoid a tail kicking.

ALL THAT SAID, FSU was still shafted. They did what they told US ACC teams to do to guarantee a spot. Play 10 P5 teams, finish Undefeated, they did them both . They got shafted over some make believe BS ESPM/Committee put out their bout the best and their QB injury, just to get Bama, cause they couldn't leave Texas out. THEY BEAT BAMA. Couldn't put Bama in without putting the 12-1 BIG12 CHANP that beat Bama in.

They were in the TOP 4 going into Championship weekend, all they did was find a way to win with their #3 QB

Said before, will say it again, and gain. They didn't expect Texas ,Washington and FSU ALL to win.

It's been a dirty weekend, FSU is not a team I like and I agreed with Booger's take on the whole mess LOL

The committee made the wrong decision, but suggesting corruption is a stretch.

Don’t honestly think the committee talked about how they want to hurt the ACC and help the SEC? LOL.

It's obvious Boo Corrigan, of NC State, of the ACC, formerly of Duke, of the ACC, formerly of Notre Dame, of the ACC, the son of Gene Corrigan, of the ACC, was chief architect of a closed-door Nazi (according to the OP) plot to, via the CFP selection process, cut off and eventually kill the ACC and, more specifically, Clemson.

I'd like to thank the OP and so many others for evangelizing so effectively this obvious truth: that the Disney/ESPN/SEC cabal, which never sleeps, is always plotting and scheming to take down Dabo Swinney, Clemson, and quite possibly the American way.

This was what I wanted to post about. If there is corruption is was bred out of the ACC. There is more ACC representation on that committee than any other conference. One person with an SEC connection. Everyone else was from conferences that would love to see the SEC die a miserable death.

There's no corruption there that you could ever prove so just stop with the redneck low-information voter type of accusations.

Based on your logic undefeated Liberty University also got the shaft. Oh yeah, the CUSA is not a Power 5....that is the same as saying the SEC is better than all the other Power 5's.

Said another way, for a fan base that has won a couple of CFP-era titles, there are many who seem all too eager to check their brains at the door in favor of the comforting ACC-as-victim narrative.

Mind you, I don't particularly think the ACC has a bright future in football and I've said many times I'm thankful Texas joined the SEC, where I believe the best football is played.

But to suggest an ACC AD is behind a plot to destroy the ACC is beyond unreasonable.

March madness does the same. Every year there are a group of pissed fans that were on the bubble but missed out b/c the committee (humans) didn't pick them. Heck, it happened with Clemson last year. The committee devalued every other game you had b/c you lost a late season game to Lou and an early season game to USC. Same happens with Baseball.

They had an undefeated regular season and won the conference championship. They were undefeated against the top 25 opponents. They had a top 5 strength of record. They deserved to be in.

As a fellow ACC member, it should concern us that this happened. I’d much rather see FSU get in than Alabama or anyone else from the SEC.

Looks like you may be another who has misunderstood this post.

So FOR THOSE IN THE BACK, ONCE MOAR.

1) Of course we all feel a bit "bad" for FSU...

2) But, there have been a ton of posters coming out saying "forget FSU", "they deserved it", "move on!", let's hear about Clemson only", "it's not us"...blah, blah.

3) Here comes the point: IN ORDER TO PUT THOSE PEOPLE IN THEIR PLACE, I SAID, IT'S NOT THAT WE REALLY FEEL SORRY FOR FSU, THE POINT IS THAT WE ALL SHOULD CARE BECAUSE IT AFFECTS US ALL, THE CORRUPTION, AND STOP DEFLECTING THAT WE ARE ONLY CARING ABOUT FSU!

I Hope...This...Helps.

"Deserve" is not in their dictionary. Media-ites may have said "just win your games and you're in". Nobody related to the CFP EVER said that. They have one clear objective: Find the BEST 4 teams in the country AS OF CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY NIGHT. Part of their criteria they are charged to follow is if there were coaching losses or player losses that impacted the team. FSU met that criteria, clearly.

I feel bad for Jordan Travis. Can't imagine the guilt he likely feels, the hopelessness he probably feels. I do not feel bad for FSU or Norvell. Norvell has nobody but himself to blame for having 2 tomato cans behind Travis.

It is a corrupt system. That is very easily corrupted. Why, because as I have stated in other threads, the process begins and ends with someone's subjective point of view. For a month and a half the Associated Press collective and somewhat subjectively, decides the top 25. In October, the committee takes over. Again, it's largely based based on who a certain group of people THINK are the best teams.

Conspiracy? Collusion? Corruption? It's a very short jump. As in all conspiracy theories, follow the money. ESPN is highly invested in the SEC. They have a contract with the ACC also. But it's nowhere near the golden goose the SEC has become. Or should we say created? All parties involved knew what was going to happen weeks before the announcement came. Anyone seen the clips of Herbstriet et al flip-flopping on there CFP stories just a week or two before the announcement? it went from "Win and you're in" to "This is not about taking undefeated teams".

The process is flawed. Don't know of another. But what happened this year exposed the flaw. Please don't say things will be better once there are 12 teams in the playoffs. It just muddies the waters further. ESPN cannot wait to expand their post season coverage of the SEC.

It’s a made for tv tournament. Teams have gotten screwed over many years. I think TCU getting the shaft year one was almost egregious. Egregious IF this was a true playoff.

But it is not. The 12 team made for tv invitational is a little bit better. A little bit.
