People and companies want a return for their investment and if that is calculated in wins, there is no way big bucks will be spent.

Unfortunately if the player is good enough, they will look at it is not wasting money, now the national brands may back off, unless its somebody like Arch Manning or Nike with the Oregon Players.

Imo, overuse of the portal has the potential to become....

addictive. Not that a program wants to use the portal but that portal players take spots where potential recruits could have been and been getting trained and developed. Every portal player can potentially take a recruit who would be a productive Jr or Sr a couple years later.

That can lead the program to returning to the portal for solutions to problems it created.
