Still, the games were played, and Clemson won them.
Go to any sports reference website, and they are acknowledged as wins. Therefore, I forever count them as wins, just as all schools with vacated wins have done.

I just don’t understand counting games that the NCAA doesn’t. It’s like counting preseason games as regular season wins, or close losses as wins.

I had honestly forgotten about the vacated wins.
Upon further review, the tone of my response could have been better.
I wake up every single morning in significant pain from my compressed spinal cord and subsequent nervous system damage. Still trying to learn to walk again and use hands again. I really shouldn't post in the early mornings.

To me, it says two things:
1. He has been successful enough to keep his job.
2. He is loyal to Clemson.
No other coach in program history meets those two criteria.

I wasn’t holding his tenure against him. I think Brad has made Clemson competitive and he’s done it on a semi consistent level. Just trying to give the entire scope.
14 years is a long time. He’s averaging making the tournament every 3.5 years. Just think all the information has to be evaluated when it comes to records.

Has Brad's loyalty actually been tested? I mean other coaches have left Clemson for a lot more money. Has anyone offered Brad a lot more money? It's easy to call him loyal if he has never been tested.

Conversely, he only has more BECAUSE he's been here forever. And, he had one gifted to him with OP's leftovers team by getting a "First Four" game win. No other coaches had as many opportunities to make the NCAAT (expansion to 68 teams came in CBB's first season).
Most of the recent coaches had fewer opportunities to get into the field (field was smaller), but most not named Larry Shyatt got invited more regularly than Brownell's sporadic 4 times in 14 years: Ellis, 3 times in 10 years (and 3-out-of-4 stretch); Barnes 3 consecutive times in 4 years (3 consecutive in his last 3 years); Purnell 3 times in 7 years (3 consecutive in his last 3 years).
For all his success at Clemson, I've never heard it mentioned that any other school has ever tried to hire him away.

If he wins another game or two this tournament
I could see BB being a third fall back option for a team that misses on their top 3 choices. That school's fans would hate the choice, but he has done well enough over the last few years to be considered. I think most Clemson fans would be indifferent if he decided to make a change.
