Most comparable football experience to Clemson?

Obviously, nothing can equal the Tiger experience on Saturdays in Clemson for a home game. The decorated cars driving in, the tailgating scene, the sea of orange, the full stadium, the noise; just the entire vibe of the day. But who would be comparable regardless of our views of the school or fans? I think Bama, Auburn, Texas, Florida, and UGA would be the most similar. What say ye?

Been to home games at Clemson, UGA, South Carolina, Tennessee, the Cocktail Party (neutral), and Auburn. They all have a great pre-game environment. Pretty much the same everywhere, only the colors change. By far the loudest place I've been is Neyland Stadium.

You say South Carolina has a great pregame environment. What was it about it that was so great?

Who said anything about great? The post asked about the pre-game atmosphere at other places.

If you’re saying, university of South Carolina has a great pregame environment, you’ve never been there

LSU is probably the best I have been to, and compares to (if not better). I’ve heard Bama and Ole Miss compare, but haven’t been to either. I’ve been to an all the current ACC schools and some BIG and SEC. Every tailgate fan showing has been pretty good to be honest, except BC. They had a good scene right around the stadium, but not much overall. Pitt had a surprisingly great atmosphere. Louisville was fun, especially if you go on a day when Churchill downs is running. Miami fans are bad ( at least since the 80s) and that stadium is not in a great spot so doesn’t have a great college atmosphere. Michigan was really fun, but not better than Clemson. Haven’t been to Ohio State, but assume that’s fun. Would imagine Weat Virginia being solid. A lot of places are different and have pride in their schools. It’s fun to see that joy across the country. Looking forward to going to different campuses in the future.

I’ve been to quite a few stadiums. Notre Dame was incredible. Just because of the iconic scenery and sights. The fan base was pretty rough on opposing teams.

South Carolina makes me laugh. Parking at some random industrial warehouse with a single port-a-John is just sad. The absolutely stunningly gorgeous women are few and far between. Trailer park comes to mind. The worst hospitality of any fan base other than Ohio State (neutral site).

LSU seems eerily familiar just as Auburn does. These three programs have borrowed, stolen, or straight copied from one another. Auburn was a consultant for our football program and mascot. LSU stole our Death Valley after they beat us one year. Fan base was pretty receptive to opposing teams fans.

UGA was weird. A dry county and dry campus when I visited. Great atmosphere with rude fan base. Stadium is pretty nice.

There’s nowhere like game day at Death Valley. I’ve never seen such hospitality when it comes to opposing fans. I couldn’t tell you how many beers and meals I have shared with opposing fan bases. They always remarked that they can never wait to get back to Death Valley because the fans are so friendly. We might be enemies during the game, but, we are all family in the Valley. From the Tiger walk to strolling through Tigerama to strolling downtown or popping into another Clemson Family Tailgate, the experience is hard to beat. Then, 85,000 of my closest friends scream our heads off while our boys rub Howard’s Rock and run down the hill. Although I miss the balloon launch very much. Clemson has the most beautiful women in all the land. That’s what they mean when they say there’s something special in those hills.

The Ole Miss off-the-field pageantry, tailgating, gorgeous dressed-up coeds and ladies, and preppy partying at The Grove in Oxford, Mississippi is untouched. However, pre-Lane Kiffin, only half the tailgaters and partiers showed up for any of the game. More may be going in the stadium now.

We have been to Bama, Auburn, Ga, Cootvile, Md, Penn St, A&M over our 50 years of marriage and following Clemson. We started going to games when we were dating and DV hasd the splintery wooden boards for seats So I knew what I felt here but I asked here first. Auburn. A&M is close but they come across as a bit cult like. At AU were were playing them and in Clemson garb. Spent time at AGR house as guests and were treated royally by all

I have been to several away games and bowls plus add a few NFL games and it seems to be different at Clemson but Im a country boy.

The ones that stand out to me was the Iron Bowl at Bama, that place was rocking. Then another is Blacksburg 2017 when we were ranked #2 and VT was #12. For 67k stadium, that place was wide open and the tailgaing was great but I knew several Hokies also. Very fun place, 8pm game, small town feel and great atmosphere. I loved AppSt when I went to game there, so much I forget who they played, maybe ECU.

Coots suck at pre-game compared to others. UGA was just ok but wasnt a big game, GT is horrible, most bowl games stink pre-game.

For sure Auburn given the towns were similar in size and the agricultural surroundings. It’s a bit flatter with nowhere near the setting of Clemson. I will say there is a bad trend happening everywhere of pushing tailgating further and further from the stadiums and campuses and will only get worse as universities get more greedy and gobble up space and build parking garages instead.

I would say, Auburn is most comparable to Clemson. But I’ve only been to games at Auburn, Tennessee(v SCAR), Georgia, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Alabama (v UT) and North Carolina.
