Saw them and many more at The Township Auditorium in the early to mid 70's.
I found a 1780 coin on the floor of the Township during a Rick Flair Wahoo McDaniel cage match.

Did you see The Iron Claw movie with the Von Erich's? Harley Race character was good, but they did Flair wrong lol

Actually, he was ok. Go back and look at his stint with WCCW as the NWA Champion which controlled most of the terriotories like wccw, he wasn't as flamboyant as in WCW or WE. He was ok because i saw some interviews and there were some famous wrestlers who said that
BTW the movie was very good.

Jan 16, 2024, 9:15 AM

An older guy who attended the weekly Monday shows at the Auditorium got so mad at Ole Anderson, that he stabbed him as Ole was walking back to the locker room after cheating in a match.

The guy was arrested and part of his sentence was being banned from wrestling shows at the auditorium. This hurt the guy more than any jail sentence or fine since the highlight of each week was watching wrestling on Monday nights. He died from a broken heart a few months later.

I used to go the Rec Center in Anderson on Thursday nights.

You used to be able to go to ringside and hand your program up and the wrestlers would sign it. Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood were wrestling either the Superstars or the Destroyers. I handed my program to Jay, who signed it and he asked if I wanted Rickey to sign it. I said yes and he handed it to him. About that time the other guys started across the ring like they were going to attack them. Ricky went to chop them and in the process creased my program. He straightened it out best he could, signed it, and as he handed back said, "I'm sorry." My thought was sorry for what. He was getting ready to whip somebody's butt with my program!!!! Not sure what ever happened to it. Wish I still had it.
