On December 25, 1751 he was 19 yrs old and on a ship named Industry sailing from Barbados to America and he entered into his diary this:

“Xmas day..fair, clear & pleasant..with moderate sea tho continuance of the trade (wind)..we dined on an Irish goose, beef, etc and drank a health to our absent friends.”

Fast forward to 1776, At age 44, his life was not so calm and relaxing since he was trying to save the infant America from the world’s largest army, Great Britain.

On Christmas night 1776 General George Washington & his raw Continental Army of only a few thousand crossed over the iced Delaware River..

from the Pa side where they had earlier fledf from the Brits, so to surprise the Red Coats who had ten’s of thousands of troops in the region.

He & his men did this crossing at night, in freezing and even during a severe winter storm to totally surprise the British, AS Well to give doubting Americans a Victory and thus hopefully saving the Nation.

Thanks General Washington and a sincere Merry Christmas to You & Your Army!

Go AMERICA, where Christmas is still

It Means Merry Christmas. There was a time people used Xmas as code to acknowledge Christmas for fear of punishment.

In the early days of the Christian church, Christians used the letter X as a secret symbol to indicate their membership in the church to others. If you know the Greek meaning of X, Xmas and Christmas essentially mean the same thing: Christ + mas = Christmas.

this week. There was also something about it being a letter in the Greek(?) alphabet.

Hey Bill, I wonder what would have happened to Pelosi if she tore a speech up behind George Washington?

Creating a nation battle the age of 44. At the same age I was married w children, working, trying to make a decent life... those dead white guys weren't perfect but compared to the vast majority of us, they were giants.
