Maybe someone should take Saben’s pulse to see how

he is standing up to all of this. It dawned on me today after reading an article about 24/7 downgrading our bowl prediction again, and also combining what I have gathered from several other pre season articles, ESPN has already mandated that the top three teams next year, in order, will be Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State. The rest are up for grabs...LSU, USC, Oregon, Penn St, and the media’s new darling, FSU. Us Clemson people are used to this but what is humorous to me is how Alabama is rarely mentioned in the mix.

Bottom line. When you get to the top ten level, schedule definitely helps, but to win it all, have to have two things...no major injuries, and luck.

Go back to our 1981 Championship. We had to make a last minute field goal to beat Virginia. Additionally, we beat UNC up there 10-8 but they were driving late in the game and had a fumble. Fast forward last year. If the Ohio State kicker had made a chip shot field goal attempt with time running out, Georgia would have not made it to the championship game.

For those of you that have read this far

One year late on the UVA game, we beat them 27-0 in 1981. 1980 was the field goal.
