Sick of the

"We'll learn from it and get better" talk.

Did Cade and Will not learn from the Duke game to take care of the ball?

This team is everything the Tigerboards are saying.

Lacks intensity, coaching is a problem, not enough awareness in critical situations, receivers are terrible blockers, The O-line has very little to no push a lot, and the offense looks the same as the last 3 years.

However, the best bright spot, is that we are still D-Line U. Parker is the truth, Woods is good but not as good as Parker. I like our situation at D Line and Eason is doing a fantastic job as the only former player cutting it.

Get rid of Grisham, I've said it now since my very first post.

The problem is that just because we had great, great talent on the 16 and especially the 18 teams it does not mean we will have that talent every year. Find highlights of the Jags-Bills game yesterday, watch Trevor and ETN and you will see what we have not had since they were drafted. Grisham has nothing to do with the generational talents that we had in Trevor and ETN.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Thats a losers excuse

Oct 9, 2023, 9:29 AM

It doesnt take Sunday talent to be successful at college ball. That said, we DO have Sunday talent all over the field. Do we have the WR1 Nfl guy at WR? No. But thats what coaching and scheme is for. There are plenty of programs out there that can move the ball without next level guys on the roster.

many of our 4☆s are fringe 4s which doesn't effect BCRatio but fringe 4☆s are more likely solid 2 yr starters and usually not the diff makers more often found in the top 125-150 which is made up of high level 4 (& 5☆s)

and it was clear that I couldn’t even get my WR to block…

I would fire myself.

That’s the one thing that doesn’t even take much talent! You just practice it and want to do it!
That’s 100% on the coach, even if you had a roster of 1-stars.

Yeah, they don't typically expose us to symbols when we're taught AAVernacular Mathematics. Too constricting, the principles veer away from anything static. The language program and school of advanced mathematics both share the same 'mantra' : To improve is to change; to
perfect is to change often. A quote from some guy named Churchill Stolditfromabman–

Not all Grishams fault if we've had the same WR problems for several years! With a new O coach those things should have been fixed...we all know there is talent galore and we see flashes on occasion...when a WR drops punts and passes he may not be ready for prime time...we still have time and opportunity but precious little of both...some of you think that the key to everything is fire the coach and that does not fix all ills...just ask USF or the chicken ranch in Columbia...Riley may need some time...Venables needed a year! Give it a rest!

Whiny “fans” are really a problem as well. Look in mirror abd you will see one. I’m sure Clemson football would be just fine if all the fair weather fans took a hike!!

Re: Sick of the

Clemson football will continue to struggle if we don't adapt to the changes that are taking place in college football.

It's obvious something is wrong.

We HaD GeNeRaTiOnAl TaLenT.

Shut up everyone who keeps saying that.

Cade was the number 1 dual threat out of high school. DJ was the top rated QB as well. It's not a lack of talent issue. It's glaringly obvious that this is a coaching issue.

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It is a talent issue in that we no longer have the generational talent to overcome bad coaching.

But I agree that we absolutely have plenty of talent on this team, and our last few teams. We should be a lot better than we’ve been recently.

So lazy to just automatically group anyone who criticizes the direction of the program, which is not trending in a good direction, as a “fair weather fan”. Fairweather fans wouldn’t care enough to complain on a message board, they’d go to Walmart and load up on whatever team has the #1 ranking this week.

Also, fairweather fans wouldn’t be throwing out facts how to make the team better by getting rid of unqualified nepo hires and bringing in coaches who are proven and qualified to develop the level of talent our program still attracts. Not every player on the 16/18 teams came off the HS game ready to win a championship, they had to be coached and developed, something people like Grisham are clearly incapable of doing. You don’t have this many “misses” on WR recruits unless you aren’t doing your homework when giving offers or you don’t know how to develop WR1 or WR2 because you were a middle of the road slot WR in college

Dabo is the best coach we’ve ever had, and he’s brought the program to places most of us never dreamed of, but he’s not infallible, he’s a human like the rest of us. Most of us on the boards complaining just want to get back to having a competitive program against top teir teams instead of struggling to beat the dregs of the ACC, a conference which hopefully we won’t have to suffer in too much longer

Nobody can believe a team that was so good in 2018 can be so medicore in 2023.

But of all fanbases, y'all should know how fast a game, a season, a program, can take a bad turn.

LSU and TCU fanbases certainly do.

My Longhorns certainly found out against OU last weekend how hard it is to be perfect for a season, much less stay perfect year after year.

Every time I settle in with my bourbon and coke and watch him sprint down that dern hill, all I can think is Dabo's lost the thread and cant find it again with this group of coaches and players.

No matter how many speeches he gives or how many catchphrases he invents.

We just have position coach deficiencies. Unless guys have a complete or nearly complete skillset when they get here, we can’t develope them. Got spoiled by all the guys who showed up ready and got lazy and Coach Dabo hired friends and family for the spots. Would like to see Wes and Garrett assert themselves and bring who they want on their staffs and kindly tell Dabo to trust them. This team(and last years team and the year before) has all the looks of a coach who means well and is trying to do everything himself and ending up kind of sucking at it.

for this year.

Whether or not you want to stomach it is another story. We can't make a trade and get 3 new and improved receivers in here next week. This is the team we have. Same as last year and the year before.

Is this a team that could play against elite teams and win.. possibly if everything went as planned. But this is also a team that can play against the sisters of the poor and possibly get beat. We're back in that territory. I agree its alot more fun to see the dominant style we saw with other teams in recent years but thats not this team. So the only hope we have is to hope to see improvement and leaders emerge.

Firing a WR coach is not going to magically fix it this year. Thats offseason stuff.
