Luke and Batson

After watching Bama blow holes in the Georgia DL, I wonder what it will take for our OL to develop physically to do the same thing. Those Bama OL men are thick and strong.
Will Luke have some sort of influence on how Batson develops our guys. It has always seemed that our OL was 15-20 lbs. less per man than Bama, UGA, Tennessee.
A dominating OL has to have good technique, physicality and work well as a group, I think Luke can fix two of the three but the physicality will take a little more time. Batson needs to up his game to get our OL ready for next September vs. UGA.

With the experience that Luke has, I would have to think one of the first stops is Batson's office to review the current S&C program. My guess if Luke doesn't like it or think it needs a major overhaul Batson will either make some immediate changes or that will be Dabo's next new hire. Luke knows OL probably better than anyone else we have ever had and it starts with getting the right body composition, that's the clay he needs to mold.

I guess it’s true that history repeats itself. Back when CTB was our HC, Batson was the scapegoat for fans. Tiger net has 1000s of posts about how he was clueless, outdated and needed to be run out of town on a rail. Now after all those years and championships where we were as physical as anyone in CFB, you think our new OL coach is going to come in and force change or Dabo will fire Batson? Guess we will need some new 4th quarter videos. SMH

I wouldn't call 114 yards rushing blowing holes in UGA's DL. Their longest run of the night was a 30 yard scramble by Milroe. By the Alabama standard, their OL has been a weak spot all season.
I honestly don't care if Batson is the S&C coach. However, why is it the defensive line keeps things rolling under his coaching but the offensive line doesn't? That's the question that has be asked and answered. Same with DBs and WRs.

They got the yards when they needed them in both the 2 & 4 quarters. There were some large holes at the end of the game on run designed plays.
Also, have to wonder how much of the injury situation is luck (bad) or a lacking of our S&C program.

Receivers have had major injuries the last few years. They struggle blocking and breaking tackles. I don't know what the problem is but something isn't right somewhere.
You could also make the case that the D lineman don't really improve year over year.

Good points, no one is saying the DL isn’t physical enough. I would expect Batson knows more than all his critics combined. I think part of it is a handful of teams get some very elite and physically advanced OL recruits. Clemson generally doesn’t get them. We do get them in the DL.
