Something about him is special. He's not surrounded by great players as past QB'S but he keeps grinding. He came to Clemson because he believes in Clemson. Get behind this awesome young man and watch him become a great QB.

They expect him to be Tajh/Deshaun/Trevor without a Sammy/Nuk/Bryant/Tee/Ross/Renfrow. It never crosses there minds that there was more then just good QB talent here in the past.

Their is no reason to compare Cade to Deshaun and Trevor. Their generational talents, Cade is not. He may still become a really good QB only time will tell.

when he gets to the point that he spreads the wealth he will take off. Stellato catches tough balls, Brown catches tough balls, briningstool is figuring it out, Beaux is getting better, and Randall has shown flashes.. and if Antonio ever comes back he's already good. So as long as he/or our coaches resist the urge to "go back" to the last guy who caught a big ball then I think we can be more productive.
The reason we lost the Miami game is b/c we started forcing the ball to Briningstool after he made a couple great grabs. First off..Briningstool is good but he's not Travis Kelce. You can't throw to him on every huge 3rd down play. He's not dominant like that..yet. Especially when Brown and Stellato can catch really just about everything they get a chance at. When we started forcing the ball to Briningstool I knew we were toast.. and i was right.
WE started the game spreading it around and moving it at will, then ended the game tight and forcing it to a guy that had 2 guys on him every play. Just gotta stop doing that. WE have good depth at WR this year. Just gotta trust em.

Great kid who plays his a s s off. Ridiculous that some “fans” blame our issues on him. He’s having some growing pains but he’s the least of our offensive problems.

I haven't seen a post that Cade is THE problem. He's a great guy but he hasn't played well, mediocre at best. Stats and rating don't paint a good picture.

One, a former H.S. head coach said we struck gold with his recruitment. He now says Cade has to keep adjusting to our game and talent level, as he was allowed to control most of his school's offense due to his own knowledge of the game. And therein lies the clue about his performance thus far IMO: he's playing in a system rigidly controlled by staff with problems of talent...talent which is there but has not been ruthlessly developed, encouraged and demanded.

I watched a few of his games not highlights and came away beyond impressed. What we are seeing from him now is a player pressing and trying too hard to compensate for the players around him. He's struggling to trust the OL and pass pro bc he's getting blasted several times a game from free runners(leading to fumbles). He has to be perfect on his throws bc the guys on the boundary are soft, lack strong hands, and lack suddenness.
Up until ND there was no run game this year. At least last year they could lean on a strong run game. This year teams are not worried about the run at all, don't see tons of stacked boxes like the past 2 years. Teams figure they can trick the ol eyes and out athlete them to the point. When 4 can disrupt the run and pass its hard to move the ball, what's been really bad is the caliber teams that have lined up and said beat our front 4 and gotten away with that.

I think the comparisons to DW & TL are unfair.
However, Cade has yet to play like a 5 star QB.

Couldn’t agree more. Even when he does dumb stuff I still root for him.
He’s a great spokesperson for Clemson. He makes guys around him want to win.
Tajh struggled after he made a few mistakes to keep it together.
Cade fights back - even if he screws up.
Deshaun had Gallman, Scott, and Williams (and Renfrow and McCloud and Leggett and Cain…) to stay in games.
Cade’s got some studs (Brown/Williams) but has a ton of inconsistency across the board.
Trevor’s teams got progressively worse as we lost the 80/20 ball threat.
Man, am I excited to see what the kid can really do next year. Gonna be exciting.
