The Aggies have always been odd and had odd ways of preforming normal game day institutional things like cheering. That video of the basic Aggie Cheer done to that music is just awful!! But they are Aggies. They are different. They know they are different and they revel in being off-center a bit.

The 12th man was drunk and incapacitated at Game Time in a bar in neighboring town, Bryan, TX. He got his date for the day to fill him with coffee and throw him on a bus which they took to the stadium. When "12" walked into the stadium to rousing cheers, date on his arm, the fans gave a standing O and the yell leaders did that cheer in the video in honor of "12's" Game Day Date.........the Bud Lite guy/gal/thing.

I think if you add them all up you might get 1/2 a man

So I’m a giant Clemson fan obviously and always thought the Aggie stuff was extremely weird and cult like. Then I have a step daughter from Texas who was destined for AtM and I went to the parents day thing… still thought it was weird and cult like… but began to reluctantly see how it bound their people together … I still think their cheer boys are super weird… but I’ll tell you… in a world that assaults anything one dare holds dear and anything traditional, I can see the appeal and I can definitely appreciate the AMAZING Aggie community for what it’s done in my daughters life

The male cheer leaders are relics from when A&M was an all male military school just like CCC so let's not get carried but the cult like nature is a little weird...want to win at any cost...must be to hire Dumbo Fishnet!

ATM if you forget Dumbo is steeped in tradition. They do not call them cheer leaders they are Yell leaders. I wish Clemson had held on to more of it's military past and traditions.

The "yell leaders" of the past did not act like GBTQ fairies.

My grandfather and a brother plus 2 uncles (the other went to West Point) went to A&M and served in WW I and II respectively, so I grew up following A&M from SC and I don't remember them being choreographed like that back in the day.I went to the 18 game and had a great experience. There were 4 twenty something A&M grads behind me and one commented, "I don't think much of a team with a coach named Dabo." I turned around and asked, "Isn't your coach named Jimbo?" His buddies elbowed him in the sides!

That’s how I would expect someone on the pacific beach to act, not Texas.

The only place that had more WWII enlistments than Clemson, including West Point.

I don't think that is correct. I think they produced more officers. I may be wrong, but there were probably many college with much bigger enrollments that produced enlisted men.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That is correct...It was more officers...Not enlisted...

It must have been officers, but the entire Class of 1944 as juniors enlisted.

I found 2 articles: https://www.si.com/college/clemson/football/the-story-on-why-death-valleys-real-name-is-memorial-stadium

Other than West Point and Texas A&M, Clemson produced the most officers of any college institution in World War II. According to “Destined for Duty: The Clemson Class of 1941,” 6,000 Clemson cadets and graduates served in World War II and 373 were killed (4.3 percent of students and alumni), including 57 from the class of 1941.

And: https://fifthquarter.net/clemson/2021/05/31/clemson-am-the-fightin-tigers/

In a step that would immortalize these brave men, the entirety of the CAC class of 1917 enlisted en masse to contribute to the war effort.

In total, 1,549 men would serve their country — 25 of which would pay the ultimate sacrifice. Following the war, CAC continued its run of producing the best and brightest for the United States Armed Forces. It’s a run that would prove to be ever more significant.

The Clemson Agriculture College produced a total of 6,475 Army-commissioned officers that would serve during World War II. It was an amount second only to Texas A&M in the same time span.

I’m a woman and think this is absolutely ghey so I know you men watching this are cringing. That song is cheesy enough alone but those cats doing those goofy hand movements is pitiful. We went to the game the last time we played Texas A&M in Texas and the yell leaders were interesting to watch but still weird. They have a great stadium and their band is fantastic.

I lived in Texas 20 years and heard all the Aggie jokes many times over. All the new ones that come out of this gay display will be totally justified and will require no embellishment by the T-sips. This fiasco will stand on its own merits as an Aggie joke. Watching this video had to be like pure heaven for any T-sip fan.
