I think we should also say a prayer that our president , Democrats and some Republicans stop beating the drums of war ...close to a million dead in Ukraine and thousands of Israelis and Palestinians dead in Gaza, millions displaced in both wars, Yemen and Iran beginning to test our weak and feckless government etc etc
We are not ready for a war in the capacity it will be fought....we are headed into a blender and someone with some sense needs to stop this madness. Secure our borders, stop the enabling of killing around the world.

I never stood guard on Christmas Day, but I did spend a Thanksgiving Day on guard. Ate Thanksgiving dinner from a paper plate, in a guard tower, overlooking our Armored Vehicle motor pool. Loneliest Thanksgiving ever.

Yes, I do. There is nothing that will crystallize your view of our country, like military service. We are IN FACT, privileged to be living in the greatest country in the world. We are not perfect by a long shot, but we are still the greatest country in the world…..and it isn’t a close contest.
