But here’s the thing. All Clemson had to do was beat ND in Southbend. But what did they do? Lay a big pile of crap in the bed!

I don’t care about LSU or how many piles they laid. We all know that with Clemson’s ACC schedule that they need to show up each and every week and be their best. A close loss at ND and they would be ok, however they were blown off the ball on both sides. So, now here we are having a discussion that shouldn’t need to be had!

So all we have to do is be undefeated to be ahead of 2 loss Bama and in the conversation with 2 loss LSU and one loss USC. Got it.

Right these people don’t even hear themselves. In what world does it make sense that no matter what Clemson has to be undefeated to get in over a TWO loss team

Proofs in the pudding, brother, no matter if you like it or not. The ACC gets no respect and rightfully so… Look at the teams that were ranked through the season and where they are now for reference.
We all hate the SEC bias, but fact is 3 different SEC teams have won the NC in the CFP era with 5 total. The ACC has one and B1G has one.
No matter how you try and defend the ACC they are one of the worst power 5 conferences year in and year out. Clemson would be best out of this #### conference where they are challenged week in and week out. The last two playoff/Championship losses Clemson looked shell shocked in those games. A stronger strength of schedule would negate that by being battle tested.
Here’s another thing. Clemson’s offense or lack there of is definitely hurting the D in two aspects.
1. With all the 3 and outs/putrid play from the O, the D is on the field too long and are getting fatigued thus giving up big plays. Even Georgia’s D would break down in that same scenario.
2. Do you honestly believe Clemson’s O is making the D better at practice? Iron sharpens Iron and well, the O is not Iron right now. Too inconsistent . So the D, specifically on the back end gets lit up during games because our O can’t produce anything down field during practice that they can go against.
2021 Georgia CFP - SEC 2020 Alabama CFP - SEC 2019 LSU CFP - SEC 2018 Clemson CFP - ACC 2017 Alabama CFP - SEC 2016 Clemson CFP - ACC 2015 Alabama CFP - SEC 2014 Ohio State CFP - B10
Go Tigers and crush the ####’S!

That’s the standard? OK.
Let’s look at TAMU. Florida, Kentucky, Arkansas & Ol’ Miss.

RaceCityTiger1977®
In your estimation; how come the ACC who you said, "rightfully so" does not get respect is the only league compared to the SEC?
The Big 12 has only won 2 in the last 22 years! The Pac 12 has won 2 in the last 22 years! The Big 10 has won 2 in the last 22 years!
The ACC has 3 different current teams and 4 National Championships in the last 22 years! Last I checked 4 is greater than 2.
Yet, all I hear about is how the ACC has earned it's place at the bottom of the heap! It's all about Championships is what the talking heads tell you. If so, how come the Big 12, Big 10 and Pac 12 don't get the same or should be worst treatment?

racecity,
It don't matter whether you call it an SEC bias or an anti-ACC bias, it is still the same bullyshit. The committee is not judging the teams based on their performance THIS year period.

Eloquent. Truly.
But even Tenn can attest to the fact that aberrations occur.
Fact of life. Relax.

we lost the right to control our destiny when we chose to be woodshedded in South Bend
I don't think it takes "unusual circumstances" for us to get in.

I think we all recognize (at least those of us who have some relationship with reality) that the ND loss left a big fat (and unexplainable) bruise on our rep this year. But LSU's 27 point loss to Tenn should leave at least the same size bruise, especially after SC lit them up like a xmas tree.
And as others havwe pointed out, our common opponent (which the committee says they value leans heavily in our favor.
All that being said, UGA will take care of LSU for us
