I never, ever, count out rivalries. Typically the best games of bring-it-all mentality.
I'll say this team appears competent, but look at last year... Mistakes cost.

if we just run the ball against them like we have for the last three years, we will win. For some unknown reasons, we decided to let DJU throw the ball in the 2nd half last year when Ship had over 100 yards on the ground in the first half. That was seriously one of the most clear games where the coaching staff lost the game.
With the way this team has played this first half of the season compared to the last two weeks, and given the seemingly scorched-earth mentality Swinney has at this point, he will not lose to them again. He hates SC as much as any life long fan. He will keep scoring until triple zeros if he can.

It won’t matter either way. The argument you make can go both ways.
They’re throwing everything at you in hopes of getting a bowl berth.

I don’t care how bad they are and I don’t care if they have not won a game all year, never count a win before the game is played. Example…. The year Spurrier quit mid season, we were stacked and they absolutely sucked. We had Watson and co. They had a bunch of nothing. They took us to the wire at the roach. It will not be an easy game.

That means absolutely nothing when it comes to this rivalry. What I’m excited about is, Clemson starting to believe in each other and they are getting confident. They are getting hot at the perfect time to finish the season on a high note.

Hope you’re kidding since I’ve seen my share of upsets in this game since 1st one attended (there as a Freshman RAT in 1959).
It will be scary at times unless we play tough & cut out mistakes.

There have only been a few real upsets by the Coots in the last 50 years. Last year being one. When both teams are under .500 it ain't much of an upset. They beat some good Tiger teams under Spurrier but only 1 or maybe 2 could really be called an upset.

Rivalry games just hit different for athletes. If one team is more amped up and ready to do all it takes, then that team can overcome any disadvantage in talent gap.
I agree our Tigers win, but if last year has taught us anything it is that nothing is ever easy and sometimes our Tigers can't get out of their own way. Ugliest game, including WVU, I can remember watching in a long time.

After all the years of being a Clemson fan, I still cannot believe that so many waste so much energy on worrying/talking about the Gamecocks all season long. The Gamecocks are so much not a concern that I wouldn't give them a thought until a few days before the game except for people posting about the "coots" since before week #1 has been played.
