I dont understand soccer

They got basically a free throw but when our guys have their legs kicked out from under them it’s not a foul. How do you know when you can basically kicks somebody’s knees out?

Slide tackles are legit if the defender is making a play on the ball. If you slide in and it’s obvious you were not making a play on the ball it’s a foul.
If you watch soccer a lot it starts to look more obvious. Hope that helps a little.

Yes a little. I don’t generally watch but just happened to flip it on. I guess it’s like any other sport there’s some interpretation to going for the ball or not.

You can't simply slide, you have to make contact with the ball.

Soccer is a goofy sport, with obtuse rules, and is boring beyond belief. Don't understand it and do not want to learn. Enjoyed watching my boys play when they were little. But college and/or pro soccer would lead to certain suicide for me if I was required to watch.

When sliding into an attacking player, if you hit the ball first, before you hit his leg or foot it is a legal tackle.

Then, don’t watch it. Some people, like myself , think other sports, like the NFL, are boring and rigged. Guess what, I don’t watch it. If you never played soccer, I can see where it is probably confusing and boring. Kind of like baseball, if you never played baseball, who on earth would want to sit and watch that crap
