Hypothetically lets say DJ transfers

I just want to know if theres going to be this much outrage and hand wringing if Cade doesn't live up to the massive expectations some are laying on him. Will they turn on him and call for Vizzina like they have done with DJ with Cade? Don't get me wrong, I truly want to see Cade succeed and if he can perform like he did last night he's going to be very very good. I'm just curious how this could play out.

Completely whiffed on evaluations or their handling. It would mean they’re not doing their job evaluating the actual ranking of the quarterbacks, for they are not developing them once they arrive. So there would be… But not for the reason that you’re probably hinting at.

We went through this with DW-Stoudt, KB-TL, and now DJ-CK. Nothing really new here. Anytime the starter is replaced by the new kid on the block, you go through this.

I think Clemson fans want the best qb on the field
DW over Stoudt, KB over HJ, Trevor over KB, etc.
If Cade stinks like DJ, then yes I want CV to have a look

I love how asking a simple question gets me downvotes because some fans are scared of someone other than them making a point. I wasnt implying something nefarious, or anything of the sort. Just asking if anyone thought it would be the same is all. Pretty funny.

No one is scared of your points. Just annoyed that you are talking about an immediate worst case scenario for a QB who just played a COMPLETE GAME, something we’ve seen in once in TWO YEARS from his predecessor.
90% of Clemson fans have been calling for CK get his shot for a long time now, and I for one will give him a reasonable ramp-up period before dumping on him.

Did you miss the part where I said I hope Cade tears it up for the Tigers? Or maybe you stumbled on where I said it was just a question of if they would immediately turn on him if he underperformed in their eyes. That's all, I'm not saying I want him to fail. Hell I want Cade to go undefeated his entire starting career at Clemson but if he doesn't I'm not going to complain about it for weeks on end. If Dabo says he starts, he starts. If he thinks someone's better then I hope they get a shot too.

Hopefully, they will do a better job of getting Vizzina ready, just in case. DJ played lights out in his 2 starts in 2020, so why should we be so sure that Cade won't regress? I don't think that will be the case, but a fallback plan doesn't hurt.

I appreciate the straightforward answer to my question. I was thinking along the same lines myself. Cade looked amazing last night. I hope he breaks every Clemson record during his time here. I supported DJ when he was starting because Dabo showed he felt DJ gave us the best chance to win and I trust our Head Coaches judgement. I support Cade now but I wont bash on DJ because he did what he could. The change was coming, just a matter of when.

Maybe i'm missing something but in 2024 Klubnick will be a junior and Vizzina will be a soph.
What then? Would Vizzina sit for 2 years waiting his turn? Maybe too early to consider.

Good post. The snowflake keyboard coaches will again pretend they know what they post about and embarrass themselves.
Unc was the perfect team for Cade to play. Their defense is beyond bad and gave him opportunities (which he clearly capitalized on).
Now, coaches have weeks with which to work with Cade for the bowl game. And again, UT is a poor defense. This will build some great momentum for next year.

Yeah, I assume the worst by saying I hope he goes undefeated during his time here. Sometimes a question is just a question. You don't have to always try to read father into something than what's intended.
