Don't think it was a QB read. It was supposed to be a straight handoff until Mr. 5-star Heroball decided that he knew better and figured Miami was going to let him walk in the end zone because he played HS football in Texas and those idiots thinks he walks on water.

Cade needs to sit on the bench until he learns that it's not high school anymore.

Agreed, but he learned from past 2 years of DJ it takes a LOT before that happens

Clearly doing something wrong in practice to have such “confidence” in these QBs that fails to be replicated on Saturdays

According to Dabo, that last call was supposed to be a straight handoff and was not a read-option. Cade broke it on his own for some unknown reason.
