Also, his Dad took a job at NC State and moved away.

If you didn't score 800 or better on the SAT you couldn't get an athletic scholarship. His dad went to NC State to coach as the hand picked successor to the retiring coach (can't think of his name right now, maybe it was Everett Case).

Press wanted to coach his son so went to LSU where there was no 800 rule.
