When I was at Clemson back in the early 80's, our apartment was behind the Old Stone Church. We were some the 1st students to move into Cedarwood Apartments after it opened. We did walk to the Old Stone Church a couple of times to look around... very old feeling.

U-235, or as known by its longer name Uranium-235, certainly changed the world. It can be used to power nuclear reactors in power plants, in ships, or, when further refined, in nuclear weapons. The advent of those weapons ended WWII, but also put the world on notice that we must never, ever have another all out war. Because if we do, the very existence of mankind, and the habitability of this planet we live on will both be threatened.
Atomic Scientists all those years ago in 1947 came up with a method of measuring how close they think the world is to that Armageddon. It is called the Doomsday Clock. The hands are advanced or backed away from midnight, depending on how much tension and war there is in the world at any given time. Midnight, obviously, signifies the end, in a very bad way.
The Doomsday Clock hands were moved up to 90 seconds before midnight at the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the closest they have ever been in history. Add in the current Israeli-Hamas conflict, and they may move even closer.
The Romans didn't have to worry about such things in 235 AD, but we do.
