We went out for Italian to celebrate my hubby's birthday, and I made him his favorite Southern hummingbird cake (like carrot cake but with banana and crushed pineapple instead of carrots). Celebratory wine later.

Sounds better than carrot cake to me. I'll have to keep it in mind.

King salmon that we brought back from our Alaska trip baked in foil pouches in the grill, mashed taters and baked brussel sprouts with bacon. Key lime pie for dessert. Mrs. Fla’s birthday so the kids and grandkids are all here. All went well and it’s beer thirty now.

The chain has re-emerged as a "teen to 30-something's" Cracker Barrel or some such indictment to culinary culture.

It's a hot mess. I did my best to convince my son turned 17 that it's just not our thing. He quickly regretted his decision when we waited for almost an hour amongst an interesting clientele when we had done a call ahead. Now, when I tell you that the clientele is interesting I mean to say that I felt confident we were one of three families that could scratch enough money together to pay for the meal for 7 without having to sacrifice feeding our children for the next two weeks.

I'll speed this up for the sake of the thread, but let's just say I never send food back, but when a steak is still cold because they didn't bother to cook it, I'm speaking up. Manager happened by and she asked so I thankfully sent her with the steak, no thanks on the redo.

Waitress was a nice Clemson girl. Everyone else's food was just fine. She still got 25% but fellas, I just can't do these box-restaurants. If it's not local or if I don't make it or a friend doesn't make it, I'll pass.
