We all got beaten up some today. Our worst single military loss moment in years, in a highest alert situation. He's been going through some pretty tough and long days and nights these past two weeks just around this one issue. Tired - absolutely. Not defeated, though. Are you?

This isn't pretty in any way. We're all losers here with Afghanistan and it's been that way for a long long time, other than financially for all the supplier corps and shareholders - bank.

This whole thing now is a huge national event. But no tie a yellow ribbon. No old brown shoe. No oak trees. Afghan nationals? You want them next door? "Abandoned!" versus "Muslims from ######## countries by the thousands"? All noise with no real winners there.

A lot of talk about mission at hand from those filling our leadership ranks, who are also working and battling through now the fog of war under very challenging circumstances. I know everyone's pulling for all involved to get as many out and get out safe and shut that mother down with as little further damage as possible.
