Yeah, we all hear the 6 and 7 figure stories, but tmk, no player has ever revealed his actual contract. In today's media climate, I find that amazing. Wouldn't at least some players want to brag?
My question mainly regards performance. Take CK's Beats deal for instance. Since Cade didn't really turn heads this year, did he actually get paid a lot by Beats anyway? Given that even in the NFL there are VERY FEW national stars like Kelce and Mahomes, would NCAA stars (there are several per team in the top 25) really get serious money? I just can't see college endorsements moving the needle much for big boy companies. I mean how many youts and parents really know or care what kind of cleats Milroe is wearing.
Take Ship for instance... he prolly gets paid very little with the Shipotle thing, and if they're not paying him, who is? Is Clemson's collective paying him and how much do you think they are paying him versus say Sage Ennis (before he portaled).

I think some of them are getting big money, a for bragging about it i would argue many of them are just not revealing how much, when 19 year old kids are driving around 199k mercedes and have on 100k in jewelry

How do any of us know what 100k in jewelry looks like much less seen players jewelry up close.
And I would expect the cars are leases.
I’d be surprised if players really get the amounts claimed on the internet.

Top players likely have six or seven figure deals for NIL. But for marketing sake, how many players have regional or national marketing value? The current system is not sustainable long term. How many sports are revenue producing at a college or university? Football, basketball, etc.? But all sports are supported by them and must be Title 9 too. Pro sports have their specific sport and teams, contracts, caps, etc.

You seem to think that NIL is about ACTUALLY marketing?
NIL "marketing" contracts are like mob jobs. You don't have to show up and do anything, just cash the checks. Your ability to actually "market" anything is of no consequence, so long as you play for the team the bag-men--I mean "marketing executives"--want you to play for.

But that's how it works these day right? Have 100K plus followers on your social media account, hold up a product and you get a check. Not just NIL, there's plenty of 20 something millionaires out there and that's all it is. F1 drivers and soccer stars make tons of cash just off their Instagram accounts. Not even called marketing anymore. It's branding.

Actually just meant that as a source of money for basically doing nothing. Not necessarily as it relates to college football players NIL deals. But as implies, you get paid for your name, image or likeness. don't really have to DO anything but sign on.

Exactly, players aren’t paid for actual marketing value, players are paid for playing for the school. (99% of the time) At most major programs, alumni pool their money into a fund and it’s distributed throughout team based on position and value to the team. QBs are getting around $1M at big programs, lineman 30k-200k. Although some are getting above that figure if they are top 5 LT. Skill or impact players somewhere in the middle. Most car deals are leases, where player keeps a car for 1-6 months.

They better. The IRS doesn't care that you're a 19-year old kid.
Wait until they start actually getting paid to play football. As professional athletes, they will be subject to a whole new set of tax problems. First, they will owe "jock taxes" in each state they play a game in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jock_tax on top of normal state and federal income taxes, plus payroll taxes.
On top of that, a lot of perks they have been receiving as coddled scholarship athletes will be seen by the IRS as taxable fringe benefits.

I don't know BUT Sam Hartman would have been drafted last year. He wouldn't have been a day 1 pick but had a chance to go as high as the 3rd round. That's a pretty good income profile. He chose to go to ND instead.

but I certainly don't have a problem with the players getting a piece of the pie when everyone else (coaches, administrators, media, etc) has been getting rich off the sport for decades.

Arch Manning at Texas getting $2.8 million has been reported on multiple sites. What I haven't seen is that NIL per year or spread over x years?
When he takes over as QB1, that will probably jump up.

Nobody is actually getting paid for their advertising value except maybe one or two of the female basketball players or gymnasts.
Everyone knows that.
It's all about paying for players.
It's a stupid question and makes me wonder if you pay any attention at all to what's going on.
