Georgia Spring Game

I was watching the G game highlights and they have a nice weapon in Etienne. He looked good running the ball. Their game was defense dominate but not nearly to the extent that Clemson's was. They threw a lot of screens that didn't immediately get stuffed. Quarterbacks had more time than ours but they really didn't seem to benefit as much as you would think. A couple of nice balls were thrown but nobody looked like a world beater. I feel like their WRs look bigger than ours. Their guys usually block and 50/50 balls may favor them. They're loaded but if we don't hurt ourselves we can play with them. Etienne being out would be a big benefit.

I just watched a little of it. I wouldn’t say their Defense looks Elite, necessarily. I think the defense they had when we played them in Athens was much better. Carson Beck looked pretty sharp, he got the ball out quick on a lot of the plays and checked down quick enough to get yards after the catch. A few of their DBs got burned over the top in the 1s and 2s defense. The starting OL for them is really good, pushed their starting DL off the ball a good bit.

Hopefully we shock the football world and look like Clemson Pre-2020

That’s why most of them are constantly injured and unavailable to play come game time. The Troy Stellattos and Cole Turners aren’t going to do anything to help Clemson get back to the program we were 7-8 years ago. Ladson/Ngata syndrome has taken over. Hopefully the recent much-ballyhooed recruits will begin the process of reversing that trend.
