I thought food trucks were supposed to come to you? Why would I want to drive to a lot?

Food trucks ARE restaurants. With a truck lot it gives you the equivalent of a food court.

I used to work with this guy. Super nice fella. When he had something to announce, in a Jewish NYC accent he would always say, "Ya ready for this..."
One day he comes into the office and says, "Ya ready for this. I bought an Ice Cream truck." I think he's doing pretty well. These aren't Nutty Buddy type Ice creams, these are pretty nice Sundaes and such. Check him out. Tell Dave I sent you.

I was referring to Jimmy Pearls. They were at Edge City once back in the day, and I made the mistake of not getting something from them. Now that's like seeing a guy in the majors you used to watch in Single A (Ryan Klesko for me).
The What The Fries guys are also superior humans. They were great mentor to my buddy when he was starting up his truck with basically no food service experience. Good good dudes, and glad to see they blew up enough to start a brick & mortar.
I also remember when Jon G's was just a truck (though he was down at Vaulted Oak last week).

First one a those I saw was in New Jersey in the 80's. Seemed like a great thing. I was too stupid to think, "They'll be selling tacos out of those in South Carolina one day."

During Covid.... our neighbirhood basically had block parties... we figured we were isolated enough... and might as well hang out with neighbors sonce they were isolated too.
Well, we hired food trucks to come two different times. Actually... didn't even higher them. We just told them we have 55 houses... probably majority would get food there since most reataraunts were closed.
Food truck came, plugged into one of our houses so they didnt have ti run a generator, and they were happy for the business. I think it was Smoke on the Water... cant remember though.
Anywho, they thought we were crazy... i guess they didnt have anywhere else to go since there were not any crowds really, so they came to our house/neighborhood.

Didn’t hire them though, just bought their food. Had a lobster truck, grillled cheese truck, and some bbq truck that was ok.

quarantine. The entire family and a few friends would pile in at Mom's and we would eat by the pool where we could all spread out. One of our Supper Club gatherings had a food truck instead of going to a restaurant. Maybe had around 36 people for that one if I remember the number correctly. We actually talked about possibly doing that again at our gathering this past Saturday night.

So people can walk to the trucks. The Sparty one isn’t walking distance to many people.

We were talking one day while the framers were going to town with the framing. A Messican food truck came by. The workers all stopped and went to order. Neighbor said "Let's get some real Mexican food". He goes up and orders something in Spanish, and paid for it. Wouldn't tell me the amount and refused to let me pay. We sat with the framers eating that food and it was perhaps the best Messican food I've ever eaten. And I've been to Mexico 20+ times. They don't have Messican food in messico. But anyway, it was grrrrrreat.
Don't slam a messican food truck. They're better than restaurants.

Dude was a perfectionist to the extreme, and I'm saying this as a recovering perfectionist. He vacuumed up the debris inside the walls in the house before sheetrock was added. He literally kept the house he was building clean the entire time it was being built.
We were looking for a cleaning lady and they had one. I asked him if she was good and he said she was. I hired her on the spot, because I knew if she was good enough for him, she was good. And she was AWESOME.

I like those lots. I usually order 3-4 meals and eat a ton. Like a gyro, maybe some Venezuelan, some noodles, and gelato. The diversity is the draw.
