A team have : more total yards, own time of possession, first downs, have one penalty, only lose turnover battle by 1 and lose by 3 touchdowns. That is truly unbelievable and extremely rare. I know this sucks, but It’s not as bad as most are making it out to be.

…it’s worse.
This team was completely unprepared mentally and physically. They look slow and out of shape.
We’re paying $1.75 million for an offensive coordinator who does what exactly? Hangs out? Dabo is calling plays. Our defensive coordinator isn’t even qualified to be a coach at Furman and his players were out of position all night long. Pathetic.

Dabo wasn’t calling the plays. We def have a problem at receiver. All we did was move ball up and down the field in the second half, but just kept shooting ourselves in the foot. Did we even punt in the second half. We literally got in Duke territory on every drive. Two fumbles on the goal line. A shanked chip shot field goal. I have a feeling we will look much better as the season progresses.

we won every stat... the one's that killed us was winning the turnover stat and the missed field goal stat...

Agree. We hit the two field goals and score inside the 5 those two times and we probably win going away. Just too many mistakes. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong.

Blocked field goals are almost always blown assignments - which boil down to special teams coaches not properly getting the field goal unit prepared, or not staffing the field goal unit with players who properly understand their assignment.
The Cade-Shipley fumble was a mistake with the handoff mesh. That's a fundamental that should have been perfected during the first week of camp. Either the coaching staff didn't properly teach Cade how to run the mesh, or they didn't spend enough time perfecting it. Either way, that's on the coaching staff.
One fumble from a tough hit in the red zone is unlucky. Going 1 for 4 in the red zone (with two drives at first and goal from the one yard line) is illustrative of a deeper problem--the coaching staff didn't put the players in a position to succeed.

Clemson had more total yards, more time of possession, more first downs, and fewer penalties than Tennessee last year and still lost by 17 points.

You are right. Lost the turnover rate by a larger margin and had more penalties. Also missed a ton of field goals in that game, however we could never get in the redzone. I don’t think that will continue to be a trend. We will improve and national championship should have never been the goal for this team to begin with.
