Agree. I disagree with how op wrote it, but the fact is - just because this team is good, does not change who our coach is and suddenly make him a great coach. The team is very good. I am enjoying watching them (well - watching them when the tv networks cover them.). No idea why it was not televised yesterday. (In Florida.)

It’s amazing how quickly some people just forget about 13 years because of 9 games. Brown the Clown is no different this year, he’s blessed with a veteran team, but he’ll mess it up just like he always does!

I’ve always been one of the biggest Brad doubters, but winning on the road at Memphis would be really difficult. They are a legit team. We’re going to be all right this year. This team is tougher than Brad‘s previous teams. These kids play with heart, but just made too many mistakes today. And the refs didn’t help….

And there are lots of guys who can score. I’m thinking we won’t see one of those patented lulls in the season, especially against lesser opponents. You can’t deny this is the best we’ve played and it’s the strongest roster under Brad and the experience is a huge huge factor too. The jury is still deliberating but there’s a ton of reasons to be confident.

We generally start the season with quite a few wins, everyone says it will be different this year… then the ACC schedule hits and we lose some games that we “shouldn’t”.
It seems the pattern in those games over the last 10 years is for Clemson to get a good lead, lose it, and be leading by a good amount of points at halftime.
Then the other team comes out for the 2nd half, takes the lead, we trade the lead back and forth for a while, go cold, we chase the game, make it close, and lose.
It’s Groundhog Day game after game, year after year, and I’d love for it to change, but I’m not holding my breath.
For this to happen for 10 years with cycles of different players, there’s only 1 common denominator left to explain it…

I’m not even on the love Brad train but this is about the dumbest thing iv seen on the interwebs today … you win. Literally it’s basketball and we played a very solid team on the road and just didn’t do the small things like free throws or take care of the ball late to win… but regardless of how you feel about BB and the previous seasons or your agenda, this is a solid basketball team with a chance to do some special things … did you really think we would go undefeated or something lol

Totally separate.
1, we have a good team and they play hard.
2. You are correct in that when looking at Brad - you cannot simply look at the team this year. Every few years getting a good group of players does not make the coach better. It makes the team better. After 13 years, did Brad read a book on how to coach? Did he get hit by lightning? As Sheldon would say - did a coconut fall on his head? If none of those fit, then, we have the same coach and in a larger set of results, we can expect the same from Brad.
Enjoy this team. Enjoy PJ. Enjoy that we finally (after 13 years) have some inside game. Brads game is to chunk up 3s and hope. PJ and Ian are finally giving us a chance inside. (Add Wiggins).
Is this because Brad read a book about how big boy basketball has inside game? Or, is it simply anomaly?

Maybe or hopefully he is evolving as a coach, but it takes good players regardless.
My only complaint yesterday and I have noticed this in that past as well was the ability to stop the ball higher up. Seems the defense sags and leads to easy penetration. We may have just been worn down but it reminded me of the kid from VT a few years back hitting that 3 in the ACC tourney. No one pressured the kid at all. I was flipping all over the place channel wise yesterday, but that seemed pretty obvious to myself.
On a positive they can score the basketball. PPG has to be the best it has been in a while as far as consistency.

I've noticed this as well and it could help force turnovers- which is one area I'd like to see them improve in. Memphis had just 6 (clem 15) and the points off turnovers comparison was colossal.

We’ve had maybe 3 players in the last 10 yrs that would have made an impact at Duke or UNC. Tyson, Hall and Girard. Blossongame or Sims? Off the bench breathers. That we ever finish in the top half of the ACC is a coach overachieving with a bunch of 3 stars.
