Everyone forgot about Tucker Israel

Apr 8, 2017, 6:56 PM

13-19 with a TD and 94 yards. Lead all QBs I believe. He also seems to be the most calm back there of all the QBs. Kelly can run, Tucker can throw. Can we somehow merge the two together hahaha

He's a Kyle Parker with more heart. Great effort & all but he won't make QB1. Johnson & Cooper are the two we'll see the starter emerge from.

Dabo loves to start experience. Look at Watson's freshman year. It will be interesting to see if he sticks to those guns and starts Bryant.

I like the kid, but his ceiling is probably at around Cooper and Johnson's floor. He certainly broke all those records for a reason, but he is very physically limited. Obviously his measurable size and speed/athleticism make it difficult for him to excel at this level, but he's certainly not a Drew Brees slinger either. He seems to process the offense very well and get the ball out on time, so he has it between the ears and probably has the heart to win also, but he does not throw a consistent spiral and really does not throw with much zip at all.

I thoughts Cooper and Johnson looked solid. I feel like splitting reps and opportunities between these two will produce our greatest option behind center. They both seem to have everything you need (other than experience).

Good thing we have great coaches to figure all this out:) Anyway, that was my take from the game. Tucker was definitely the most consistent today though.

What game did you watch? Tucker is clearly our best chance to win he throws the ball where the receiver can catch it. Cooper and Johnson were very inaccurate while Cooper got better as the game went on Johnson through one good pass.

If you think Tucker Israel is "clearly" our best chance to win games, then you "clearly" know very little about college football. I hear he's a good kid. He seems like he knows the offense and understands the game well, but you act like he is head and shoulders above everyone else. His completion percentage was solid. His yard per attempt was not. He doesn't have the arm strength to challenge a defense. Don't forget, he's been here going quite a while. It's not like he's going to blossom physically. He could certainly manage the game for us, but in no way does that mean he give us our best chance to win.

Come Monday, Walt hasn't forgotten about him. He was saying it all along, even before Tucker took his first steps as a toddler ??

It sure is tough to be a 5'10" white guy in sports these days.

Hunter Renfrow disagrees.

You do realize Renfrow was a QB in High School. Even he knew there was no way a 5'10" QB was seeing significant playing time.
