It will always be a what you done lately, and lately Brownell has a 50% hit rate the last 7 years on NCAA eligible seasons.

Good truthful write up. He deserves a few years at least to prove that he can keep winning. Thats why don't think there will be any huge $ buyout addition.

Fans should stand buy Coach and see if he can build off this run.

Based on that article alone, I have completely shifted. I thought he had hit his or a ceiling because I was looking at all 14 years and looking at individual games. I did not look at trends, details, processes and perspectives.

If you consider that the first 7 years were needed to build the next 7, then Brownell used and needed that time to build a strong foundation on which to build and continue building a program. From developing hs approach, his culture, his staff, his players, his facilities, and his relationships.

The program via the last 7 seasons has shown to be the most consistently successful Clemson basketball in its history. So he deserves and needs the opportunity to continue to grow and build on that success.

I hope one way the growth and success will be seen is in landing quality, impactful recruits who stay for 3+ years.

So let's go Tigers. Let's go Coach Brownell.

Judge Keller has been telling y'all this for years.

This board owes him a apology

This is the take.

I think I recall David Hood writing an article years back detailing that (paraphrasing here) the approach to basketball with Brownell's hire would be similar to Frank Beamer's tenure at Virginia Tech where it would take some time to get things right but to be patient.

For those unfamiliar, Frank took over for Bill Dooley in the 80s who had the most wins in VT history at that point but was forced to resign due to numerous NCAA violations. Frank went 24-40-2 in his first 6 years and eventually broke through in the 90s and 00s with great success

It seemed like early on folks were behind the long rebuild but seems like our excellent run in football and handling of other sports (like baseball) shortened the patience (for better or worse).

All this to say it seems like we are on an upward trajectory as of late. Brownell is now the most successful coach in Clemson basketball history and deserves the extension and time to prove he can continue to sustain this success.

It’s ridiculous and somewhat embarrassing that this must be written now!
