Did Dabo Have A Heads UP On Saban Retiring?

Could Saban have called Dabo last week or a ew days before he announced his retirement to tell Dabo he was retiring? That would have given Dabo time to think about taking or turning down the job offer. I can't believe he would not have thought about the job and talked with family about it. You don't make that kind of decision quickly.

They are neighbors in Fla and play golf together in the offseason and have for years. Anything is possible...

Saban has said nobody knew, except for his wife. He had been thinking about it and made a final decision 5 minutes before a team meeting. He was interviewing potential coaches for his staff an hour ahead of time.

So, no, I don't think anyone else had a heads-up.

It's possible Dabo challenged Saban to a 1 on 1 basketball game for the Bama job. 5'-11" vs 5'-6", younger, can't lose, right? Dabo's black eye tells a different story of the outcome. Turns out Saban was surprisingly a beast on the court.
