here will Alabama running back Derrick Henry be drafted?
This college football season, the 6-3, 242-pound Heisman Trophy winner was the top back in the country, rushing for 2,219 yards and 28 touchdowns. He ran for 158 yards and three touchdowns in Alabama’s 45-40 win over Clemson in the national championship game on Monday. On Friday, he officially declared for the NFL Draft, forgoing his senior year.
Despite Henry’s statistics, stature and accolades, he’s not considered the best running back in this year’s draft by some pundits. For example, ESPN’s Todd McShay rates Henry as the No. 2 back behind Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott, and the No. 37 pick overall.
Friday, Henry told reporters that he was given a second-round grade. And he wasn’t happy about it.

Not surprised . He doesn't carch the ball out of the backfield , he has decent but not great speed and he runs straight up and down which will get a big man like that hurt in the NFL .
He also doesn't seem to recognize blocking assignments when not handling the rock.

I hope he decides to stay at home and watch the draft with his family, friend, and those he loves. There's nothing worse than someone who has so much hype, who's expected to go in the first few selections, sit there staring at their phone sweating with 20 cameras in their face. I remember when Manziel got drafted, how painful it was to see his face every time the cameras zoomed in on him 20 times before he was selected. Terrible. Just stay at home young man. Prove the doubters wrong. I personally understand, like the poster(s) above, why he got the grade he did but I think he's a great person and he has a wonderful story. He will find his way.

No will be used and abused just like Henry was. They don't care, they just want championships. These kids don't graduate nor do they come back to get their degrees so once they are done its NFL or bust. Quite sad actually.

It depends. I'd say in the past few years the biggest Bama running back bust had been Trent Richardson. Mark Ingram is doing well, Lacy win hints as a rookie last year (ups and down this year), and Yeldon had a decent year (but with oodles of injuries.)
Bama in previous years always used a dual rb system, but not so much this year. They've also got a great graduation rate for players (aside from rb.) This year they broke their own (and the ncaas) record for players playing with degrees/graduated.

and an exciting player to watch. He and DW4 apparently hit it off quite well, while in NY for the Heisman ceremony and exchanged a hug and chat following our game.
Made me think the two of them may suspect that at some time in the near future, DW4 may well be handing off the ball to Derrick for a gallop.
Regardless, I hate to see any young person's dreams marred by self-appointed "gurus," most of whom aren't fit to wash jock straps. I wish Derrick well.

His HS stat sheet is unbelievable . Started at RB all 4 years for Yulee , FL .
Amassed 12, 124 yds at an 8.4 ypc clip . Scored 153 rushing TD .
The guy has been a workhorse for the past 7 years .

Apparently, the "gurus" failed to inform Derrick of that second round projection.

Henry would probably make more money staying at Bammer.
Did I just say that? Oh no I din't.
Henry is a situational RB in the NFL from what I've witnessed. He won't be nearly as effective as he is in college where the Bammer OLine just makes holes that you can drive a tank thru.
