Clemson/OSU visit

2

Apr 5, 2023, 1:16 PM

Air Noland announced he knows where he’s going after the Ohio State visit.

This doesn’t mean that Ohio State is the school of choice. Ohio State could have eliminated themselves and he knew more clearly. But how different do y’all think the visit was for Clemson than Ohio State? We obviously approach recruiting differently and offered the family environment, culture, etc.

You know Ryan Day must’ve illustrated the life he could have in Columbus with NIL money and likely being drafted as most QBs there do. Did they even show him any hospitality or just show him the money and facilities without even caring?

I do not believe we are really in the running with who we have now that he must beat out.

I love this logic

Ohio State QB signees past 2 seasons:

2023 4 star
2023 4 star transfer
2022 4 star

seems the buckeyes have some hurdles of their own he would have to jump.

I don't know why everyone's pretending like the cupboard is bare at Ohio State for QB. They have a 5 star Kyle McCord who everyone projected as a Matthew Stafford player. Devin Brown was 5 player slots from being a 5 Star and he was great in high school. They just signed a top 10 QB in the country in Lincoln Kienholz. They're all elite QBs. We have Cade, who should be excellent but will be in his last year when Air starts, and Vizzina, who might end up being good, but was not phenomenal in high school compared to the usual fare.

I understand that I am a stranger in a foreign land here. My view of Ohio State is quite different. I have followed Ohio State recruiting pretty closely since 2011. I admit that fandom can cloud our judgement when it comes to out team and our coach. But I think Ryan Day probably has a similar approach to recruiting as Swinney. They both preach religion and family. I think Day probably doesnt preach religion near as hard as Swinney. There are probably various reasons for this, but one reason is certainly that Columbus and Clemson are two very different places. Day’s spin on the culture at Ohio State has been built on family. That is how they separate themselves from other schools. Its quite a different culture than was built under Meyer. I must admit that I, like most non-Clemson fans, have a vastly, vastly different view of Swinney than you guys do. I also realize that I have a very, very different view of Ryan Day than you guys have. I think Ohio State promotes development, being drafted, and NIL opportunities. I think they do it the right way. Maybe i am blind and just drinking the Kool Aid.

Both coaches are very good at their job. One does things a little differently but the end results is always a very good product on the field. I admire both Coaches for what they do with their programs. That said, Go Tigers.

I love Dabo’s personality and everything he’s done for Clemson. I do think he’s stubborn and I’m not into all the religion but it’s who he is.
Clemson fans and probably most fans of other schools don’t care for Ohio State or their fans. The adjective I see used most to describe them is obnoxious. Whether that’s accurate I don’t really know because I know very few of them so I can’t judge. I do know I have no interest in living in Ohio, Michigan or Wisconsin and I always wonder why players from the Southern part of the USA want to go up there to play when there are so many great football schools in the Southern part of the US with great weather and great traditions.

Half the state of Ohio has moved to South Carolina. I’ve met a lot of them and they suck.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

I'd guess OSU has more NIL money to pay a guy to sit on the bench for 2-3 years than does Clemson.
