Is still tied for the most TD's scored on Kick off return.
It's safe to say he's Clemson's All-Time Best return man.

Didn’t he have a bad toe in that game? 1st KO return called back so he ran the second one back? Or was I dreaming.

CJ played with turf toe all dadgum year. I think he lost a shoe on one KO return against Maryland - it was wild seeing him bust out the Terp pile and Jacoby Ford essentially served as his convoy down the field

He for sure is in mine! I haven't seen game speed like Spiller's since Spiller. The only other one I can compare him to is Reggie Bush.

Jacoby Ford was faster than CJ.

Yes in straight line speed.
Jacoby Ford might have been the fastest to ever wear the paw.
But in game speed Spiller was different

He never had a 90 yard punt return, which is what I said

Playing as a true freshman, he had an impact right away on both special teams and as wide receiver. On special teams, he averaged 32.8 yards per kickoff return, enough to lead the ACC that year had he had enough returns. He also had a 94-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against Louisiana Tech, making him one of three Tigers in history to return both a punt and kickoff for a score in a career. He is the only Tiger with a 90-yarder in both categories.

the rule changes to reduce kick returns. Plus nearly every team has a kickoff specialist now that can put them through the EZ. I wonder how many fewer KO returns there are now compared to CJs 4 years.

CJ would probably hold the record easily if he hadn't shared the returns

A record that won't be broken anytime soon I'm sure. He's still my all-time favorite player. Hence the 28 in my username. I still feel the excitement from watching old games and him touching the ball. Truly an unmatched athlete in his college years. He was Heisman worthy to me.
