CBB has finally gotten to know his players

I think this is the biggest reason for our recent turnaround. This was bascially a whole new team. It takes a coach awhile to learn how each player likes to be coached.
For example, CBB has worked with PJ for a long time and he knows PJ responds well to berating like when he loudly dropped the F bomb on Saturday at PJ in the first half. PJ got into gear after that.
On the other hand, CBB has not worked with Joe Girard before. How was he to know that Girard does not respond well to physical assault from his coach? Now that Girard has healed physically and emotionally from that event, he is playing much better.
I noticed Brad has also changed his approach to Joe and I observed him stroking Joe's hair during a timeout Saturday. As CBB becomes more familiar with the team, this team will continue to get better.

To think that girard had to heal physically and emotionally from that goes to show you are incredibly soft and likely have never played sports before.
Your will no longer be taken seriously when talking athletics.

2 at the professional level, and have also coached multiple sports. I am willing to bet my credentials surpass yours and I will continue to take him very seriously when talking athletics.

I am only going off what I observed. There's no need to get political.
I coached a 5-6 year old girls church team once and had a similar experience. When Susie Nelson failed to block out I called a timeout and made it clear she would not get a juice box after ther game. She responded very poorly. However, I took a softer approach with her later in the season and she was able to blossom.
I am just thrilled our mens BB team is playing better and want to make sure Coach Brownell gets some credit.
