Glad to see Riley back with Eason and Goodman ... and Luke and Rumph joining the team. A lot of work to do on Offense, and skill player speed and team blocking will be HUGE.

But will we see anything different or improved?

Not until Dabo commits to really recruiting oline stars. It has never been his priority.

Class of ‘71. Went through “rat season” and glad I did.

I guess all those top 20 lineman with many being 5* wasn’t recruiting studs? It’s been development. Not talent. Not size. That’s all there. Technique is not. This isn’t the 285lb average line we used to suffer through. These are grown men 6’3 300+ lb average. The common problems have been a combination of Austin and Caldwell. No development. Stagnation. Luke will change that.

Please share your insights about Dabo not being committed to recruiting OL stars.

First of all, when recruiting OL prospects that everyone else wants, we (same as every other program) simply don’t KNOW that the recruits will be college stars. So there’s that.

Next, Dabo does indeed have his assistants recruit ‘OL stars’ from what we (andevry other program) ascertain as having star potential.

Concerned that our OL recruiting had low numbers of signees with (what the coaches ascertained as having) star potential for both the 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes? If so, then you are not alone. Dabo was concerned at the low numbers, and fired OL coach T.Austin as a result.

Next subject.

Not until Riley has complete autonomy as a coordinator. Dabo needs to put the play calling sheet down and stop vetoing 90% of plays. Dabo admitted this recently. Take he training wheels off and let the offensive genius do his job.

Running the ball and controllong the clock with dominant time of possession were strengths. It’s how we won the last four games. Limiting those to explore the potential of a failing pass attack due to poor pass blocking was not a good idea. Do what needs to be done to win.
