Based on how busy that place was on football saturdays, some of you made that your game day stop. The signs are already down and the awnings have changed from yellow and red to blue. Not sure what's coming.

I hit that Chic Filet right off the exit on 153 normally.
Strange a Bojangles would close down. Do not see that very often. Maybe having to get rid of their lowest producers.

Corporate forced most of the franchise owners to sell their franchise back to corporate. People used to the independent stores don't seem to like the corporate ones.

One in Athens closed. One in Elberton needs to close. They are slow and good is bad. Used to be my favorite fast food.

Nah. They have relocated several in the Greenville area and when they do Bo's always paints the exterior of the old building they close blue to de-brand it. Culvers would probably raze and build new if they are going on that piece of property.

Yes, they did the same blue paint to one in the Charleston area a while back and it’s been just sitting there for sale for months now.

The Bojangles here in Simpsonville on main street
Feb 15, 2023, 8:07 PM
|
|
seems to have struggled since the pandemic like a lot of places. The lobby and dining area haven't been open since and some mornings the drive through isn't open either. I liked Bojangles more before they dropped the southern fillet biscuit about 10 or 12 years ago, I guess to simplify since now most of their food is fried.

I thought a lot of these places are keeping the dining areas closed because they can't find enough people to work and it's easier to just staff the drive thru.

Yea we have a great deli across the street from where I live and she had a sign up that said closed due to staffing shortages.
If the govt ever told the truth I wonder how many able bodied Americans are no longer in the work force.
I have realized over time that the unemployment number is bogus seeing it only counts those that are actively looking for jobs. That number should currently be 0 with all the openings in my area.

No it didn’t. It’s called something else now. If it did where are all these people getting their money?

That's a great question. I believe the problem with a lot of these restaurant jobs is people know they can quit on the spot now if they get ticked and walk across the street for the same or more money. It's essentially a revolving door everywhere you go.

Yeah, last time I was in Anderson Mall I noticed the Chick-fil-A had closed. That’s a sure fire indicator that a mall is on their last leg.

Exactly. Closing down because you have no business is a problem, shutting it down because you are relocating to a larger freestanding location is not a problem. Big Difference.

When I was still in the office, there was a CFA right by our work... last time I drove by there, the CFA was closed. I was surprised tbh, because it was always busy, but it had the WORST parking lot.

Yeah, several people I know over by Powdersville said it was bad. I found out a few years ago, if you go to Bo's, go when they normally have fresh cooked chicken or you'll end up with more grease than chicken.

I know of many instances where units close because their lease has ended, and the new lease has increased substantially. Often these businesses lease the land so that the payment is a current expense instead of purchasing the land and then amortizing the value. An example would be the Burger King that was on Clemson Blvd. that moved to Highway 93 because of new lease being too high.
