Beer Sales In Stadium
Nov 21, 2016, 9:43 AM
|
|
I was really surprised to see that beer was sold at the Wake Forest Game. I am not a teetotaler but I hope we never allow beer sales at Death Valley. We stress the family atmosphere at Clemson and I believe beer inside the stadium would be a negative. I noticed that there were fewer kids running around in BB&T Stadium than we have at Clemson. I wonder if any other ACC schools allow alcohol sales. I'm sure I will hear different opinions bur I say enjoy alcohol while tailgating but leave it in the parking lot.

For the record, I see more drunks now at Clemson games

than at Darlington races, with beer flowing freely. ALSO, even though the rules have not changed, there used to be FAR more drunken brawls at Clemson in the 80's than now.

More people, than you probably would think, sneak a little drink into the stadium. I would not want to lose our family atmosphere, but selling would not guarantee that to happen. It has been proven over the years, in many different aspects, that making something 'illegal' does not prevent it from happening.

From the other spectrum it could decrease some of the stupid drunks that chug as much as they can right before the game because there is no alcohol in the stadium... I don't think they should do it either just trying to spin an optimistic view.... I'm sure prices will be outrageous anyways

I get plenty buzzed on the tail gate and use the 3 hour game to sober up

Keeping that going increases DUI's, injury and death. Some people don't know when to say when and of course the students and some pathetic adults that can't go a minute without drinking sneak in liquor bottles but that is what it is. I hope it never happens.

I know that you get this all around tailgates but there were also a lot of younger looking, drunk college students walking around in the stadium with beers in hand. Not a good example for older kids and teenagers that came with their parents just go to the game to see some football.

kids weren't running around because it was -10 outside. beer is always a plus. most at cu games are already well on their way once in stadium, not to mention the airplane bottles. it makes for a fun day

I'm guessing the AD will try beer at baseball first

maybe basketball ---- then football if the first test is successful.
They toyed with selling beer at Kingsmore last season - they may actually do it this year.

It's definitely coming... Syracuse sells it and I believe FSU did at their baseball games last year. I don't have a problem with it and it will definitely add a boost to revenues.
