I think it's no coincidence that when he left, Clemson got better. And after he got to LSU, Miles is now on the hotseat, as the good teams on their schedule are running all over them. What's the deal with Steele? He's just not a good coordinator. I know when you guys had him, Tech had a much easier time running our basic option package down your throats. Not so much with Venables.

People called for his head after the 2011 Maryland game. We couldn't stop them (running QB) all night. It was foreshadowing to the '12 Orange Bowl.

Also, the bend but don't break defense is not as effective when people are happy to complete short passes. Used to be years ago, pros and college, throws were deeper and fewer.

My opnion was Steele was good at scheming Pro style offenses

could implement. Simply have better athletes at every position and have them win the one on one match-up every time.
Worked at Bama a bit and worked at Clemson against inferior opponents. But it isn't sustainable.

Shortly after he left, several Clemson players said they couldn't understand what he wanted them to do. Anybody who watched our games knew that was true. The other team's offense would be ready to snap and our guys were running around yelling at each other. Sorry that he's probably gonna get Les fired but glad he's not our problem.
