I realized that I grew up on close Clemson wins and losses. Danny Ford,
could win those close games because of defense and of course a bunch of
tough offense but he won.Dabo is better against modern day talent. Close
wins or close losses build character.Go Tigers and I believe the clouds
are moving to sunny skies for the team.

The rules were different in the Ford era. Defense ruled the day. Today, the rules favor the offense. At some point you have to outscore your opponent.

I believe, unless my mind is wrong, Danny beat some good teams that
were loaded with as much or more offense than today. West Virginia,
Penn State, Ohio State so get your facts straight before you start
correcting me.

The difference is, Danny would tell us how bad the team was to tamp down our expectations, then he'd finish the season with double-digit wins and a bowl victory. Dabo tells us the team is as good as one of his national championship teams and sets our expectations really high, so when we lose our first two conference games and squeak out a win over Wake Forest we're all disappointed in the close hard-earned victory because we expected more.
