I looked him up and it doesn't appear we did. He chose ALA over FSU, FLA, GA, and TX.

Well if he wasn’t a fit coming out of HS he probably isn’t a fit now. But we all know if we don’t go after him the real reason is because Dabo is too stubborn and refuses to use the portal.

Because we offer so few players and normally commit to our first choice and give them time so we could’ve targeted someone else and told that player we’re only going to offer one running back. But by the time that player decided to go somewhere else this other kid had already committed to Alabama. Then again maybe at the time the kid was not interested in Clemson so they didn’t waste the effort. It’s kind of foolhardy to make such speculation because no one knows, especially considering the way we recruit.

Hit the portal and went to a good school closer to home.
Got 4 Carries in 2 years.
Hit portal and went to lower level school. - got 0 Carries.

I can't find anything that says Demarcus has taken a snap for UCF this year. What a waste of talent. I surmise that he just did not want to put in the work to become an outstanding running back in college. He should have stayed at Clemson and worked harder.

... there are Trey Benson at FSU and Jamyr Gibbs at Bama.
Benson is more like Sanders. He was injured at Oregon. He was not really highly thought of in the transfer portal. As he liked to tell people during the week of the Miami game - there were 4 RBs at Oregon. Cristobal asked 3 of them to come to Miami with him. Benson was the only one he didn't ask.

He's a graduate transfer been plagued by injuries. We need a freshman back not a senior with a year left especially with the 3 backs we have returning

No portal player with 1 year of eligibility is going to choose to be the 4th running back at Clemson in ‘23.
