Clemson Recruit Spotlight- Hutton Reed

Jan 29, 2016, 2:18 PM

Hutton Reed.
2.3 Star,PG
Mountain Brook High School
5'8, 130.
Class of 2018.
Clemson Visit-November 21st, 2015.

Information on Hutton's visit- Hutton Arrived at Clemson University with other prospects around 8:30am, He watched the Tigers MBB team practice, met the players, talked with Head Coach Brad Brownell, then toured the MBB locker room, University campus, then toured to Football locker room, football field, and then watched the Clemson Vs Wake Forest Football game.

Hutton on his visit-"I had plenty of time to talk with the Clemson players, and staff".

Information on Hutton- Hutton just recently transferred from Blue Ridge School in Virginia (where he played with class of 2016 Clemson Signee Scott Spencer, and Class of 2017 Clemson recruit Aamir Simms) to Mountain Brook High school in Alabama (Where the #2 ranked player in the country for the class of 2019 plays-Trendon Watford.)

247sports on Hutton- Hutton is a quick and elusive point guard prospect who is shifty with the ball in his hands. He loves to play transition basketball and is a knockdown shooter from the outside. Great kid who is very coachable. Needs to add strength and muscle.
Projection-Low D1 College Prospect.

Rod Grimley (Scout.com certified scout) on Hutton- He's Extremely underrated, very good shooter, runs the court well, unstoppable on fast breaks, Hasn't yet began to grow, I Expect him to pick up some offers this spring during AAU.
Projection- Low major

He's the type of Point Guard Brad Brownell likes.

Depaul wants him

Jan 29, 2016, 2:44 PM

Depaul has been watching him, recruiting him pretty heavily since early November.

Little man knows how to play, he tore up the Summer Circuit this past summer.

Definitely does need to get bigger. His strength will come as he continues to grow.

Well good luck Mrs Reed with the DePaul visit and recruiting

Jan 29, 2016, 2:47 PM

You are Mrs. Reed right ?

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Just remember Curry was pretty small in 10th grade ...

Jan 29, 2016, 3:28 PM

and did not have big time offers.

Not saying this is the same - or even remotely close. However, a god coaching staff watches and talks to kids that may be undersized but may have the "it" factor.
