In response to: Keep it to football

Sep 5, 2012, 9:07 AM

All I can tell you is that I dont care what religion you or any individual is all I care is that you have a 1 on 1 relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. By you telling the rest of the Tiger nation to keep it to football is like asking to take God out of School.

So all I can tell you my friend is dont start stuff around here because alot of us would rather talk about how we can bring Christ into the game of football in order to win another championship. That being said. GO TIGERS.

I'm all for talking about him being baptized if you want but ummmm... god should be taken out of school unless the school is private. It's called seperation of church and state

Glad you read the Constitution my friend. The UNITED STATE OF AMERICAN was founded on CHRISTIAN principles. If you dont like it deal with. The world is becoming more corrupt and taking God out of everything. Sorry I am against that. I believe if your gonna teach Evolution you sure as #### better teach something about Christ.

You really should go back and read it, because you are 100% incorrect. Please don't spread misinformation.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Christians, like all other religious people, are great

Sep 5, 2012, 9:26 AM

at misinformation.

The OP said, "all I care about is that I have a 1 on 1 relationship with God." Well great. keep it 1 on 1 and don't bring this gatdamm stuff to this board.

OK, take the religion/politics to that forum and

Sep 5, 2012, 9:18 AM [ in reply to Re: In response to: Keep it to football ]

the Constitution does not say Separate Church and State.

Amendment 1 states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Subsequently by taking Prayer out of school, you have violated the 1st Amendment to the Constitution as you have "prohibited the Free exercise thereof".

That's all I have to say in the Football Forum on that.

Our founding fathers were deists.

COLLEGE: A three-year starter at strong safety for Clemson, finished his career with 234 tackles and 11 interceptions.

Actually, the phrase 'separation of church and state,'

Sep 5, 2012, 9:34 AM [ in reply to OK, take the religion/politics to that forum and ]

is taken from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to a Baptist community assuring them that the government would neither get, nor allow other to get involved in their business. The constitution provided for the churches' protection from the government is does not prohibit the churches from getting involved in government for if it did it would deny citizens rights to self govern.

This is the Football forum, take all other topics to the lounge. There is a place for those topics on T-net just not in this specific forum.

That always confused me because all US currency has "In God We Trust"

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

"In God we trust"...

Sep 5, 2012, 11:07 AM

Was added to US currency during the late 1950's, early 1960's in response to the perceived communist threat at the time. It has been challenged in court numerous times.

Do you honestly think God cares who wins a football game?

Sep 5, 2012, 9:13 AM

Sheesh. Get over yourselves.

You don't think Auburn has players/fans who are as religious as Clemson?

Sorry, just my 2 cents.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

God caring about football

Sep 5, 2012, 10:06 AM

isn't the same thing as the "holiest team gets to win"

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not according to TC

Sep 5, 2012, 10:16 AM

"how we can bring Christ into the game of football in order to win another championship."

It just bothers me that some are so misguided & self righteous in their beliefs that they feel Clemson (& be extention themselves) is better because of religion. What about Notre Dame? BYU? Oh, that's right they don't count because they are Catholic & Mormon.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No offense, but go to a Christian message board then

Sep 5, 2012, 9:22 AM

Jesus isn't winning Clemson any football games, no matter how hard we might pray. In all honesty, me crossing my fingers and making a wish upon a shooting star has equal/better odds of helping Clemson win than praying to your Lord.

Why can't people reply to a thread *in that thread*? Starting a new thread to respond to an existing thread is not necessary.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

there is a Tigernet forum for religion

Sep 5, 2012, 10:05 AM

you can discuss it there.
