Honestly, I don't think anybody has any idea who they might get so this is a sort of "throw the spaghetti at the wall" sort of thing (mention any coach with a decent record sort of thing).

I think Dabo would be a good hire for them - but their fans will NOT see it that way.

I think Dabo's name is out there because after 4 years of a defensive minded coach and struggling offenses, the gator fans are looking for some excitement on offense. If you follow that to it's logical conclusion the answer (for UF fans) might not be Dabo, it might be CM (Strictly speaking of Clemson staff).
Of course, I'm just spit-ballin' here and CM's name comes up every year when a HC position comes open...
Honestly I don't think it will be either one.

Florida would become my second favorite team.
I wouldn't act like a possessive little kid and would love to see them win he East every year. Especially since that means he would have to beat the coots to do so.

People will want to wait on chad Morris to see production, dabo has the prefect gig for him and all the resources he could ask for here and going from proving yourself and not being questioned (not including the fairweather morons and coots here) at a major program to another program no bigger than the one he's at just to rebuild, be questioned and start over in every aspect for the same pay would be beyond stupid and no one outside of an alumni would do it. That and UF is a shitehole with bad press especially after all urban Meyer said.
And before someone says brent venables you are high if you think florida would seriously consider a defensive coordinator.
No one but seniors are going anywhere and if they were dabo would be the last.

I love these coaching lists... always provide entertainment.

I've even seen Mack Brown on one of the lists for Florida. How ironic would that be? Fired Texas coach replaces his ex coach-in-waiting.
Really though, just follow this recipe and you can make a Florida coaching candidate list for yourself.
*1 former NFL coach who is out of work or retired (used to always be Bill Cowher) *1-2 coaches from equal or superior programs that would have no reason to leave (Saban, Stoops, etc) *1 absolutely laughable candidate that makes you spit out your coffee (Chip Kelly, Bill Belichick, Vince Lombardi) *A couple of flash in the pan guys (Mullen, Freeze) who might not even be coaching at their current schools in a few years if things don't go well (remember Ole Miss fired Cutcliffe one year after he went 10-4, tied for SECW title, and won Cotton Bowl) *1 small conference coach that's having a great year *A few legitimate candidates.
I don't know if they can lure any of them, but i feel like Patterson, Gundy, Graham, and Rich Rod could all be good hires, especially Patterson who I'm really big on, and none seem like they would be completely unattainable. I would expect Florida to stay clear of any program manager "CEO" types like Dabo, and go for a coach that excels at coaching one side of the ball, probably offense given their recent struggles.

Dabo wouldnt take it if offered. He can basically roll the balls out at Clemson and win 9 games a year. And folks are happy with that since FSU goes to the playoff and Clemson gets to go to the next best bowl because there is nobody else left. He wouldn't be living in that same cupcake world at Florida. He has it made, and he should know it.
