I think there were three things that happened last night and if any one of the three doesn't happen, we probably win.

1. Alexander not being able to play in second half. If he plays the whole game, we win, simple as that.

2. The surprise onside kick.

3. The kickoff return for a touchdown.

I have nothing but pride at the performance of our players and fans last night. The only thing that bothers me from time to time today is the reality that we were leading in the fourth quarter and if we could have managed a score when we were up 24-21 and had first down at their 40, we probably win our national championship. As good as the team is expected to be next year, not sure when the next time we will have a chance to play for the title. If anything, this year has showed how very hard it is to get to that point. That is why it was so hard to see it slip away with 10 minutes to go in the fourth quarter. We got the performance we needed from the offense, from the defense, especially prior to Alexander's injury. It is just hard to waste those performances and not grab the title.

As good as we will be, we have to open at Auburn, play at FSU, and the many ACC teams that can trip us up.

Bottom line, the team played its heart out last night and represented Clemson in a great way that has the sports world talking more about us this morning than Alabama. This team that has won the Atlantic Division, ACC and Orange Bowl Championships and finished #2 is a team that we will be talking about in Clemson for decades.
