Wow! Talk about a strange phone call...............

I just this minute received a call from the Georgia Tech Athletic Department thanking me for supporting their football program. I asked the guy what gave him the idea I was supporting Tech and he said he saw where I attended a Georgia Tech game this year. I said that I saw one GT game every year ... whenever they played the Fighting Tigers of Clemson. He said that was the wrong reason. Tech must be having a hard time raising money if they think ole' Foresttiger is sending them any cash. #########!

Explain this logic to a dummy from Clemson ..... you have someone from the AD call everyone who was at the game two years go in Atlanta and praise them for being a fan since you have a record of where they bought one ticket!!!
Maybe I should try this in hopes of getting a few new IPTAY members. Should I mail you an application?

But you seem to think it was rude of them in some way. I think the opposite. A phone call saying thank you for something can't be that bad a thing.

Johnson's system is boring to watch...they get no attention here locally....their fanbase is a bunch of goobers who look down on fans who didn't attend school there...they might get 30k fans a game. The only time they even need that end zone upper deck is against us and GA.

Lots of programs / sports teams do that. You must have bought tickets directly from their ticket office and they have your contact info. I get a call from Wake Forest every once in a while, and I'd bet I get three or four emails from them a week because I buy tickets to those games from their ticket office instead of stub-hub.

I am sure that what you say is true. In my many years of attending 100's of Tiger football games, I have only bought tickets from the opponents once in my life .... two years ago at Tech. How can I get out of their data base??????

I've gotten calls from UMD, GT, NCSU, & Wake Forest.
Every rep I've talked to has been great to deal with and they laugh when I ask them "what game did I purchase tickets for?" and they look up and say Clemson, that's when I tell them that's the game I go for.
They laugh, put a note on my name, and actually got a call from the GT guy the following year about the Clemson game (couple years ago).
