He’s done pretty well on defensive play calling this year. Our issues have been on offense.

No because he does nothing to blow that stupid mesh up. They have all day to read the d and pull it. Make the qb pull it fast and throw it or run it. Take the running back out of the equation. This is football 101. So if you don't know what you are bitching about then don't say anything.

Oh yeah, 3 points with the ball on the 10 yard line, and then 30 yard line. Real awful defense. I love Brent Venables, best d coordinator in the nation. But some of y’all have some insane expectations about play to play defense. Even venables defense wasn’t in the backfield every play

You just don't understand assignment football do you? Everyone has a job. With 4 down lineman getting blocked by 5 do the math. The lbs are not blitzing but dropping into coverage. So there is no one accounting for the running back until he runs. If you send a linebacker just to hit the running back then he will not get the ball. Trust our corners to cover until we get burned. You have to force the qb to make a quick decision and not eat a sandwich while he decides what he wants to do.

I do understand assignment football, venables was a master of that against Georgia Techs option offense. But you are way oversimplifying their mesh offense. You want us to get eaten alive by underneath routes by bringing linebacker every play on a rb who doesn’t end up getting the ball?

Wes is just fine. Riley is the problem, how can you not see that the offense is underperforming.

Defense is strong, maybe not as aggressive as BV but every bit as good without a doubt.

BV defenses got blown up a lot more that many remember. This team under Wes has performed significantly better than the offense
