to see Clemson go after a Jim Philips, Bob Fulton, Larry Munson kind of announcer.

They had a way of bringing a lot of excitement into the game.

No offense to Pete Vanity or Bob Munson or any current staff.

Okay, I might go along with Munson, but there's nothing special about the crew in Columbia. Hunker down you hairy dawgs is a classic phrase. If you want to cite another great play by play guy, Bama's Eli Gold would be a good one.

I really did like Pete Yanity, even more than Phillips and a whole lot more than Munson.

Orange in the end zone was growing on me, but it's not that special. I didn't dislike him, but I didn't see greatness either. That said, there's no greatness in the booth now either.
