“…I understand that I chose to play football and it’s violent & very physical. But, I try to protect myself to the Nth degree. And when something like that happens, really the past 2 big ones [NC State + GA Tech], they were direct head-to-head contacts, and not too much I can do about it, getting hit to the back of the head. And so, that’s where you saw the frustration come from: understanding that everybody has a responsibility on the field. For me, it’s laying my life down on the line for my brothers and those people beside me. And for them [REFS], it’s to protect the players on the field”.

booth have replays and the power to stop the game if targeting is suspected. The guys in the booth see exactly what we see on TV.

There's no excuse for missing it on the field.

They were obvious and there were multiple refs with a clear view of the hits.

It just takes a glance to miss a second and the eyes take a particular time..

to refocus. That is the only excuse I'm make for them but excuses never worked in my failures.

I wanted out of the ACC back in the 1980s solely because of the officials have their heads stuck up a tarhole's, tarhole.
