Will eligibility rules

Be the next to fall to judicial challenge? With NCAA being totally impotent and otherwise incapable or incompetent to enforce its own rules how can they limit a player from extending his/her eligibility so long as they are enrolled in some sort of academic curriculum. I can see Ph.D. candidates on the team at age 30 so long as they are getting 6 figure NIL deals. How can NCAA keep THAT from happening?

Or the other side of that coin. How long can the NCAA require college athletes to attend classes or maintain a certain GPA.

CFB as it is now should continue to have eligibility requirements.

Now, when the P2 splits and college is no longer required, they can have the conversation of whether there is such a thing as eligibility.

I think at that point eligibility won't be a thing. However I have no clue what NFL-lite will look like outside of contracts being a thing for players.

The NCAA has pretty much zero choice in the matter at this point. The courts, including SCOTUS, and state legislatures have changed the rules. Basically, the courts have decided that the NCAA cannot make any rules that place any limits whatsoever on student-athletes. No NIL? Too bad, courts burned that one. Sit out after transferring? Courts burned that. Okay, one free transfer...nope, courts say can't make anyone sit out, ever. Lawyers have set their sights next on the member institutions, which will be found to not be required to abide by any NCAA rules.

Next things to go might be:

* years of eligibility...it's not fair that you limit a player to 4 years of eligibility if he wants to play more

* academic eligibility...it's not fair that you require players to go to class

* scholarship limits...if a school can't afford 150 scholarships for their football team, then they should play football

* women's sports...if a man can't cut it and wants to play in a women's sport, you have to let him
