Why we will beat Oklahoma AGAIN

I watched OU / Baylor play, and I was not impressed with OU all that much. My thoughts on OU:
Pros for OU: - Lincoln Riley has definitely improved their offense. Glad he did not go to USUC as HC. - Baker Mayfield is a better QB than Trevor Knight was last year (Trevor was still hurt IMO). - The OU Oline is pretty darn good. - Their play makers are Mayfield, Perine, and Shepard. Those 3 will be hard to contain.
Cons for OU: - Mayfield has issues making his deep throws. I think he made ONE out of ~ 15 deep throws. He repeatedly missed his targets, so he was never a real threat with that throw. - Perine is no better than last year, and CLEMSON had an answer for him. I expect the same this year. - Shepard is better, but CLEMSON managed to shut him down. He might have been playing hurt last year. - OU still cannot tackle worth a crap. They repeatedly miss tackles and allow big gains. - OU does NOT defend the deep ball very well IMO. WR's can easily get behind their defenders. - I seriously doubt that OU has seen a D like CLEMSON since last year. - Mayfield is good at extending plays, and maybe he does it too much. He will be sacked numerous times if he continues to attempt that against CLEMSON. - Mayfield makes mistakes under pressure - which he will face all day long. - Perine's counterpart Joe Mixon tends to run east-west instead of north-south. I expect him to get tackled behind the LOS numerous times.
I expect OU to score less than 32 points, and I think CLEMSON can score 40+. OU will not beat CLEMSON unless CLEMSON turns it over too often.

I honestly expect this game to play out much like the ACC championship. Just don't make more mistakes than them and no problem. The only difference is UNC's defense may be a little better than Oklahoma's. Other than that, I'd imagine UNC's offense probably matches up well with Oklahoma's. Haven't watch OU play and don't know about their o-line. Also, Hollins scared me because of his mixture of speed and height. I assume OU doesn't have anyone like him. I'm most excited to just watch Mackensie do his thing again.

He has 5 receivers with TD catches of 70 yds or more. Albeit some are with yac.
> - Perine is no better than last year, and CLEMSON had > an answer for him. I expect the same this year.
I would double check that statement. He had that 400 y/d game that skewed his numbers this year his is more consistent and lost weight to improve his speed.
> - Shepard is better, but CLEMSON managed to shut him > down. He might have been playing hurt last year.
He was hurt in the game. He was targeted once, had one reception but had to leave the game.
> - OU still cannot tackle worth a crap. They > repeatedly miss tackles and allow big gains.
If you watched the Baylor game you would have noticed we held their run game 3.6 yd/s carry.
> - OU does NOT defend the deep ball very well IMO. > WR's can easily get behind their defenders.
Yes Sanchez is vulnerable here, but Thomas on the other corner is lock down corner, and the NB and Safety are playing the best they have all year long.
> - I seriously doubt that OU has seen a D like CLEMSON > since last year.
Probably correct, but I would like OU's offense more to NDs than UNCs and you guys gave up 426 yd/s to a backup QB in the rain in that game.
> - Mayfield is good at extending plays, and maybe he > does it too much. He will be sacked numerous times > if he continues to attempt that against CLEMSON. > - Mayfield makes mistakes under pressure - which he > will face all day long.
What, he and Watson have virtually the same completion %, he has more yards per attempt and he has thrown only 5 its with 35 TDs compared to Watsons 30 and 11. Not sure what mistakes you are alluding to.
> - Perine's counterpart Joe Mixon tends to run > east-west instead of north-south. I expect him to > get tackled behind the LOS numerous times. >
Yes he is running 6.9 yd/s a carry running EAST/WEST and has almost 800 yd/s to compliment Perine.

Thanks for that insightful response. I guess when presented with facts that is common refrain or 40-6. You think that is the first time OU has lost, that was the 5th time in that craptastic season and has nothing to do with this year. This team was remade top to bottom.

Not remade , just sort of switched up offensive strategy to the more sensible " even distribution " approach , kudos to Riley . The defenses in the BIG12 are nothing short of weakling though , and check those stats if you want to ...they stink . It's no secret. Clemson will get pressure , Clemson will put Mayfield off of his game and Clemson should win because .... well because DW4 wears our jersey. Plain and simple Oklahoma , just like every other team Clemson has played in 2015 will fail to stop him , or slow him enough not to be outscored . That's what I think.

No they completely remade the offense. Gone is Heuples pistoless read/option throw it the other teams DB so we better line up in the same formation and hand it off to Perine offense. I agree the defenses in the B12 are weak but OU exploited that and won easily (can you say the same down the stretch with your team?) You are right it will come down to QB play, I have seen all of Clemson's and OU's games and I think OU has a better supporting cast. So if Watson can be "contained" I think OU has a good chance to beat Clemson.

Watson contained??? Are you high? We faced 5 top 25 D's and guess what?? He was not. And OU won't.

And OU probably has the weakest SOS when talking defenses of any team in the nation...who else had the misfortune of playing 6...that's right 6!!!!!...100+ ranked defenses including the absolute 3 worst. I'd say we have to take a lot of OUs offensive stats with a grain or two of salt.
(and OSU's D finished ranked 96th, so more than half of the schedule had defenses ranked 96th or worse...wow, just wow)
If Shepherd was so hurt last year, maybe he shouldn't have talked so much leading up to the game and in the pre-game because he got exposed and his ### handed to him.
Let's not go crazy w/ the ND game...rich for an OU fan to use the backup QB nonsense. That takes some marbles...or a severe lack of awareness. Perhaps we should ignore the last 3 games for OU...Sooners have ZERO good wins vs. starting QB's this year...3 'ranked' wins vs. 2nd and 3rd string QBs...congrats. I don't count Tenn as a good win because 1) they have no good wins and 2) OU was fairly lucky to win that game.
Also...we absolutely dominated ND--they put up 1/2 those yards in last quarter when we were preserving lead. Played too conservative and it almost cost us--we've not totally learned from that and it's a risk. Console yourself w/ that fact if we are 15+ heading into the 4th...By the way, the ND backup QB will beat Zaire out next year for starting job. You can mark that down--he's a far, far better passer than Zaire and a far better pure passer than Mayfield...and that's not really close.
OU gives up 3 sacks per game and that ranks 111th in sacks allowed. We rank #5 in sacks in the nation, averaging nearly 3 per game...looking forward to lots of negative plays. Speaking of negative plays...OU ranks 88th in TFL allowed and we rank #2 in TFL.
I mean...3 sacks per game against that defensive slate? Am I out of line suggesting we might get 7 sacks? Nearly 7 TFL per game against those defenses? Imagine Shaq and Co are already salivating.

No disrespect but your team is just another one in the way of Clemson this year. ESPN and the rest of the National media will tell you how great you are and that Oklahoma will win because they are still mad about last year......but in the end Clemson will win and ESPN and the National media will pick us to get beat in the next game.

You guys are the number 1 team, OU was dead and buried after the Texas loss, the same media praising us today was the same media calling for Stoops head, proclaiming OU's program was dead and wondering how the team was going to beat KState, TCU, Baylor and OSU. You think the team listens to anything they say? The play for their team mates and the school.

Oh the talking heads on the message boards maybe, but how many boosters you think post on landthieves? But there was some frustration with his loyalty to some coaches and his appearance that he wasn't taking it seriously. The bandwagon fans get upset with a 10-3 season. Last year was tough because of high expectations coming off of the Sugar Bowl, that probably was why it was the noise to get rid of Stoops was so loud. I am curious to watch to see how Georgia plays after getting rid of Richt.

ND I agree with, but I think TCU with Boykin and Doctson healthy would beat FSU (Cook is awesome but they don't have a QB) and UNC (I don't get the UNC love, the had the 109th ranked run defense, why didn't Clemson just pound them). Baylor with Russell was an unstoppable offense, not so much on defense, FSU would be a tough out for them and I would give it a toss up, but they would smoke UNC healthy because they can really run the ball. I have nothing nice to say about the Pokes, hell South Carolina could probably beat them.

Well, stats and the nation say otherwise. But, whatever makes you sleep. Btw - TCU sux in every facet with Boykin. FSU would demoralize them like they did UF. You clearly don't know what 5 star players look like like. Chk out FSU and you'll see. Cook would rush for 250 easily. Baylor?? Jesus. Unc would score 60 - Baylor maybe 50. Those D's for all big 12 schools are a farce. Please don't tell me the same personnel from last yr is somehow good enough to miraculously beat dw. OU needs to understand that a qb running for his life as mayfield will be doing is not a good recipe. This d on 3 wks rest - good luck with all that. Tigers will score as much as they want - when they want

I don't understand all the UNC love. They play defense like a B12 team and the first game against a ranked opponent of any kind was against Clemson, I just don't see how they are any good, but if it makes you feel better than more power to you.
Same personnel? Why yes. Last year you caught OU moving from their base 4-3 under (BV defense) to the 3-4 to give them more versatility against the B12 offenses. A new secondary coach and philosophy, a line coach (all from the 3-4 defense trees) the LB coach coaching his specialty and more important MS off the sidelines and in the booth calling the defensive signals. Is it enough to beat Watson, not sure, but it is strong enough to shutdown the supporting cast.
What team has Clemson played that has a comparable offense or QB to OU? If you say ND I will take that they ran up 426 yrds in a Monsoon and with their QB throwing for 321.

Hell I pay the tuition but I was Sooner bred. I was there for two games this year (missed the rain both times) but did watch a lot of Clemson football through a fans a eyes, my daughter has both a Watson and Mayfield jersey she wears, our Christmas card was taken at the BC game. It will be great game, completely unlike last years game.

I was opening the seeds would have held, but the B12 kills themselves without a CCG, to get a NC game. You are right different year, different teams.

True story. Not doing themselves any favors with no CCG. But here we are. Hard to tell what's to come with the somewhat meaningless OOC play. Would like to get to a day where OOC play is contained within the power 5. You just don't know until you've been there.

OU traditionally schedules a home and away services with a P5 opponent. We just finished with Tennessee and start one with Ohio State and then UCLA. With only 3 OOC games you have to balance it out. Next year I think our SOS will be a bit better as Houston is another team on our schedule. Anyway I finally figured the real reason OU will beat Clemson, we steal your cheerleaders.

You offer some good points and your clearly a good fan. But I think in fairness it should be pointed out that your wins against TCU, Baylor and Oklahoma State are a little questionable as they were played without any of those teams starting quarterbacks. Boykin was out, Russell was out and Mason Rudolf was out.
I suspect that some of your wins would be losses if you'd played them without Mayfield. Who is an excellent QB. See, that knife cuts both ways.
We shall see Dec. 31. And by the way, as far as I'm concerned you guys can steal a couple of our cheerleaders...some aren't so hot this year.
Go Tigers!

lol - I was being nice about beating OU, but here's the real truth.
After CLEMSON curb stomps OU once AGAIN, it might make history when Bob has to fire his little brother for his pathetic attempt at D.
I was nice again when I deliberately did not mention that CLEMSON beat OU with our backup QB last year, and we are bringing a Heisman-type QB this year. You gotta know that somehow. That spells doom for the schooner as the wheels will collapse on that dilapidated thing.
I did mention that OU still cannot tackle, but it's worse than that. Our RB's will run thru the OU D like a hot knife thru butter.
When I stated that Mayfield only connected with ONE long pass (to Shepard), that was just for the Baylor game - not the whole year. I was nice in not saying that Mayfield sucks trying to throw the long ball. He can't hit the ocean from a boat. He needs to stick to the short stuff.
If you haven't watched a single CLEMSON game, or just don't understand how our D works, CLEMSON will stop the run and make Mayfield beat us with the pass. THAT won't happen. And Perine will experience another long day of pain and very few yards compared to his average. Please don't compare the CLEMSON D to the Kansas D (which sucks and should not even count).
Anyway - bottom line - CLEMSON rolls the Schooner once again - and Mark Stoops had better get his resume ready.

I have seen every Clemson game this year and that is why I think OU has a chance. I don't mind your posts but you really don't offer any insight. Here are two facts.
Our punter rulz - yours not so much Mark Stoops coaches at Kentucky
